PSG Esports have announced that they will be entering Rainbow Six Siege through Japan League 2022.

Paris Saint-Germain becomes the first football club to enter the esports scene of Ubisoft’s tactical FPS shooter Rainbow Six Siege. This brand-new team will be joining the R6 Japan League, which is set to begin on March 26th.

This is the Japan league’s second official year, and it works to bring all tiers of Japanese teams together. Last year, the League had a massive prize pool of USD $439,000, which also included the Japan Championship and Japan Open tournaments.

PSG’s new roster has not been revealed yet, but the club has stated that it would have “five Japanese players based in Kanagawa, Hokkaido, Okinawa, and Osaka will represent the club.”

Paris Saint-Germain launched the PSG Esports division in 2016. This French Esports Club currently runs teams competing in League of Legends (PSG.Talon), DOTA 2 (PSG.LGD), Arena of Valor, Brawl Stars, and FIFA 21.

In PSG’s official blog post, Fabien Allègre, Brand Director, Paris Saint-Germain, stated: “The Japanese esports scene is one of the most dynamic in the world and we are proud today to join the family. Rainbow 6 is a new type of game that we had not explored yet. We are looking forward building new successes in the coming years.”

PSG Esports will look to get a good start to the league and secure a spot in the APAC North League 2023. You can watch PSG live in the Japan League on March 26th.
