Completing Pokedex will always be one of the classic challenges of Pokemon, and here is how you can fully complete in Scarlet and Violet.

The best part of a Pokemon game is meeting, catching, and thus, completing the whole index, or shall I say, Pokedex for that installment. With that saying, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have a Pokedex that contains around 400 Pokemon. That also includes the exclusive ones as well.

However, by now, Pokedex contains some extra advanced features. As Pokemon are now indexed by a National Pokedex numbering, the updated index is sorted either by their internal numbering or alphabetical order. Moreover, did you know that these numberings depend from region to region?

Best Ways to Complete Pokedex in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Enough talking about Pokedex. We will now focus on completing the Pokedex in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. For that, I suggest you follow the best ways you can ever get.

Touch some grass

You heard it right. Touch some grass already. Pokemon tend to roam in the wild-green region. You will be seeing a lot of them in these parts. Moreover, you won’t have to have a headache with being slow in the grass. Unlike other Pokemon installments, devs of Scarlet and Violet made sure to keep us tense-free.

Study the Evolutions

As the title says, learn about the evolution chart of the Pokemon from the registered database. In general, Pokemon appear on maps in their evolved form. However, some Pokemon, especially the starter ones, don’t seem to appear in the evolved form. On top of that, they cannot get registered in the Pokedex without being in their evolved form.

To evolve, there are some criteria to be maintained. And that is what you need to look for in the database.

Check the Map

Check the map from time to time. The mini-map will show you the available Pokemon in your current area. Moreover, it will give you instant notification of a nearby active Pokemon.

Made to Trade

Give what is excess; take what you need; that is the basic trading rule. With that in mind, and if you are bored enough, trading can be a good option. Moreover, some Pokemon are version-exclusive, which means that Scarlet and Violet both have exclusive Pokemon of their own.

With that saying, you technically have no option without trading. All you gotta do is, tap on Link Trade, grab the one you need, and register hereafter.

Look for the Outbreaks

Pull up your map and see if there are any red icon glowing. That is the call for the outbreak. Means there will be mostly rare Pokemon, and they are unregistered. Do what you do best.

Money Management—Moneygement

To complete the Pokedex, you need to catch all the Pokemon. And to catch all the Pokemon, you need balls, Pokeballs.

With that in mind, set your priorities while purchasing other items. Moreover, battles with other trainers, conquering the Gyms, and catching the Tera Pokemon will give you a load of Pokecoins and League points. You need to have a clear vision of moneygement here.

We will use the Old ways

Weaken the Pokemon’s HP till it reaches the yellow or red zone, and then we throw the Pokeball; we know the basics. And glad to say that apart from this, other basics are still relevant acts as a working method in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet till now.

There are also status effects that can come in handy. We are accustomed to Paralysed, Frozen, Asleep, and many more. Needless to say, these are the ace cards that are unmatchable.

Pokemon Home is on the way

Pokemon Home is basically a cloud service to manage Pokemon all at once. With this, you will be able to store, trade, and transfer across the other installments in a more efficient way. This will also allow you to register the new ones in your Pokedex with more ease in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

And these are the best ways to complete the Pokedex in the most efficient manner possible in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. To learn more, check out Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
