The remake of the original Persona 3 becomes the fastest-selling game in Atlus’ history.
Atlus has announced that Persona 3 Reload has sold 1 million copies worldwide, making it the fastest-selling game in the studio’s history. Persona 3 Reload was released on Friday, February 2, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC.
Following the series’ rise in popularity due to Persona 5’s success in 2016, fans have asked for a remake of Persona 3, which Atlus acknowledged in an official statement.
Reload was first announced in June 2023, but the game’s development was first reported in April 2023. Reload was remade correctly with several graphical and technical improvements that put the game on par with the later entries in the series.
Persona 3 Reload was received positively by the critics and the longtime fans of the series, who praised the updated graphics and gameplay. Moreover, the community praised Atlus for sticking with the game’s faithfulness to the original.

Persona 3 Reload Becomes the Fastest-Selling Game for Atlus
Atlus posted on Twitter expressing their deepest gratitude to the fans for their support with Persona 3 Reload and announced that the game surpassed one million sales worldwide. The Twitter post reads,
Persona 3 Reload sold 1,000,000 copies worldwide within its first week, becoming the fastest selling game in ATLUS history!

One of the biggest reasons behind Persona 3 Reload’s success is that the game was launched simultaneously on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. However, the previous Persona games were first released on or exclusive to PlayStation.
In addition, Reload peaked at over 40,000 concurrent players on Steam, becoming Atlus’s biggest launch on the platform. Persona 3 Reload debuted at number 3 on Steam’s top sellers chart and was the second best-selling physical title in the UK last week.
In comparison, Persona 4 Golden sold 1 million copies on Steam almost a year after its release. Persona 5 Royal was released on multiple platforms and sold 1 million copies a month after the game’s release.
