Pocket Pair has hinted towards a future release of Palworld for PlayStation.
Palworld is a monster-capturing game described as Pokémon with guns. However, its gameplay loop is similar to games such as Minecraft and Ark: Survival Evolved. It features a sandbox world, with survival mechanics such as crafting, and building, as well as the need to maintain hunger and warmth levels.

The concept of the game itself has garnered a lot of interest, probably because you can mow down Pals, the cutesy Pokémon-like creatures of Palworld, with machine guns and rocket launchers.
Though it has not been released fully, Palworld’s early access release has gained huge traction. The game has sold 5,000,000 copies in three days since its release and has reached a peak of 1,521,755 concurrent players. This is without accounting for Xbox and Game Pass players.
Furthermore, the small developers of Palworld has achieved this massive feat without releasing the game on Playstation, which is the market leader in gaming consoles.
Will Palworld come to PlayStation?
As of right now, Palworld is only available on PC and Xbox. However, the developers, Pocket Pair, have expressed interest in a Playstation release down the line. In an official FAQ for Palworld, the devs stated that they “don’t have plans for this at the moment, but will consider it during development”.
Furthermore, Shuhei Yoshida, PlayStation Head of Indies, replied to Pocketpair announcing that Palworld had sold 1 million copies on Twitter, congratulating them. To this, a fan replied, asking for a PS5 version of Palworld, to which Shuhei Yoshida simply replied “Yes”.
One reason that the game has not made its way to Playstation yet is that it does not have an early access program similar to Steam’s Early Access and Xbox’s Game Preview. Therefore, it is likely that Palworld will come to Playstation when it fully launches.
