As we mentioned earlier, training and leveling up a Pal depends entirely on how you choose to tread with a pal. To determine how you tread with a Pal, you should keep in mind its main attributes-

  • Partner Skill (Non-changeable) – A special skill that will directly benefit you when the Pal is active.
  • Active Skills (changeable) – Combat-focused abilities.
  • Passive Skills (Non-changeable) – Randomized traits that affect a Pals’ characteristics negatively or positively.

Also, like Pokemons, each species of Pals has fixed elemental types. For example, a Fire-type pal will be strong against Grass and Ice ones, whereas they will be weak against Water-type Pals. Moreover, you also have to consider the Work suitability of a Pal before you assign a task to them.

Now let us jump straight into the ways to Train and Level Up Pals fast in Palworld.

Keep the Pals busy

Keep assigning your Pals with new tasks according to their Work suitability. The more tasks they complete, the more they will earn EXPs. Try assigning them as many farming and crafting tasks as you can while also making sure they remain happy.

Use them in Combat

Use your Pals in combat as much as you can, as it is the most effective way of earning Exps for your pals. Try matching them up with the same level/type of opponents. Avoid attacking higher-level pals, and keep in mind your Pals’ elemental type before facing one.

Upgrade your Pals’ Rank

This is a very important factor and affects your gameplay greatly as you further level up in the game. Upgrading ranks boosts a Pal’s stats and abilities significantly. To rank up a Pal, you will have to use a Pal Condenser, which unlocks at level 14. When ranking up a Pal, the Condenser will take the essence of a certain number of the same species of Pals. The number of Pals required will increase with an increase in ranks.

Use Special Skill Fruits

Use the glowing skill fruits to equip your Pals with new powerful abilities. You will find these mysterious skill fruits all around the biomes hanging on a glowing tree. Using these, you can teach your Pal a new active skill and swap it with older ones.
