Oxygen Esports manage to secure a first-place finish in the last playday of Rainbow Six Siege North American League Stage 1.

Before Playday 9, the last day of stage 1, Oxygen Esports sat at the second position of the table just below Susquehanna Soniqs. However, a first-place was possible for Oxygen, only if they win their last matchup against beastcoast, and Soniqs lose theirs against Mirage. And surprisingly, in Playday 9 this exactly happened.

Soniqs, who were looking quite strong this season, were defeated by Mirage in a bold 7-2 victory on Clubhouse. On the other hand, Oxygen also managed to secure a 7-4 win on Chalet versus beastcoast, gaining that extra 3 points.

With 17 and 15 points respectively, Oxygen and Soniqs ended NAL Stage 1 in 1st and 2nd place. While both Mirage and DG climb over the previous NA giants- TSM, DZ, and SSG- to secure a 3rd and 4th place-finish.

As the May Six Major has been cancelled, the top four teams won’t be advancing to any event. However, they will be receiving the crucial SI points for 2022, and also the huge prize pool of the Six Major event (only the top 4 teams).

Ubisoft is still trying to host the May Six Invitational 2021 in Paris. With their two new additions of “Kyno” and “Yoggah”, Oxygen Esports are looking very strong, heading into the most prominent R6S tournament.
