Overwatch Season 4: Heroes of Busan is shaping up to be one of the game’s biggest updates of the year. Blizzard has confirmed that the new season introduces D.Mon as a playable Tank Hero alongside the Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania event, a major Battle Pass overhaul, and the new Emerald rank for Competitive Play.
Season 4 launches on August 11, bringing the spotlight back to Busan and its famous MEKA Squad.

D.Mon Joins Overwatch as a New Tank Hero
D.Mon is officially entering the battlefield in Season 4, expanding Overwatch’s Tank roster with another member of Korea’s MEKA Squad.
Her arsenal includes the Plasma Saber and Fusion Repeater, while her abilities consist of Power Barrier, Propulsors, and Surging Strike. Her Ultimate combines Limit Break with Call Mech, giving D.Mon a kit built around aggressive frontline play and her MEKA pilot identity.
Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania Event Arrives
D.Mon will not be the only MEKA pilot getting attention this season.
Blizzard is launching Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania, a three-week game show-themed event centered around the MEKA Squad. Players will be able to support their favorite pilots while participating in the event and working toward rewards.
The event fits directly into Season 4’s Heroes of Busan theme and gives Blizzard an opportunity to expand the spotlight beyond D.Va and D.Mon.
Overwatch Battle Pass Gets a Major Revamp
Season 4 also introduces one of the biggest changes yet to Overwatch’s Battle Pass system.
Instead of relying entirely on a linear progression system, Blizzard is splitting the Battle Pass into shorter tracks, allowing players more freedom over which rewards they pursue first.
Premium Battle Pass owners will also gain access to a Tier Hack that can be used once per pass to swap an eligible Legendary reward for another curated option. Blizzard is additionally planning Unvaulted Passes during the Season 4 midcycle, giving players another opportunity to obtain selected rewards from older Battle Passes.
New Emerald Rank Comes to Competitive Play
Competitive players are getting something new as well, with Blizzard confirming the arrival of the Emerald rank in Season 4.
The addition gives the Competitive ladder another progression milestone and represents another notable change to Overwatch’s ranked ecosystem.
With D.Mon, MEKA Mania, a redesigned Battle Pass, and a fresh Competitive rank arriving together, Overwatch Season 4: Heroes of Busan is bringing changes across nearly every major part of the game.
