The screen flickering issue is causing trouble for many players in Overwatch 2. However, with a few simple steps, you can easily fix it.

After a series of beta testing, Overwatch 2 finally launched as a full-fledged title. Overwatch fans and FPS enthusiasts have been waiting for this title for a long time. Additionally, Blizzard made it a free-to-play title. So, hundreds of thousands of players overflowed the servers within a short time.

No new game comes out in the perfect condition. Blizzard expected issues with its official launch. However, continuous server issues and DDoS attacks from third parties made the launch more troublesome than Blizzard anticipated.

Screen Flickering may occur due to multiple reasons. The main reason for it could be corrupted game files. If Overwatch 2 is not installed correctly, and some files are missing/ corrupted, the game may find it difficult to load some of the assets. Hence, the flickering issue occurs.

Secondly, screen flickering may occur because your graphics drivers are not updated. The latest drivers usually include support for new games. So, it is better to install the latest drivers for your GPU.

Lastly, the most unfortunate thing that might be causing screen flickering is faulty hardware. If your hardware (processor, GPU, RAM) is overheating or defective, it might cause screen flickering in Overwatch 2. However, it is very unlikely.

  • Open Blizzard and go to Overwatch 2.
  • Click on the Settings/ Gears icon beside the Play button.
  • Click on Scan and Repair.
  • In the search box on the Windows taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select it from the list of results.
  • Select the arrow to expand Display adapters.
  • Under Display Adapters, right-click the adapter, then select Update.
