Oblivion Remastered brings back everything fans love from the original RPGs and refines it for a new generation. This includes the numerous side quests and storylines for you to follow, as well as the iconic Mages Guild.
Joining any guild has many benefits. In addition to the fun quests you get to go on, you also get access to unique gear as well as special training, i.e., if you want to take your wizarding skills to the next level, you should join the Mages Guild.
However, even if you’re not set out to create a magic-heavy build, there are still many perks you can get from joining the Mages Guild.
In this article, we’ve detailed how to join the Mages Guild, and the quests you’ll need to get access to the Arcane University.
How to Join the Mages Guild
You can join the Mages Guild right after the prologue, and you venture out into the world after exiting the sewer. To do this, you can head to one of the several Mages Guilds in Cyrodill. Each city has its own Mages Guild, except the Imperial City, which has the Arcane University.
Keep in mind that you’ll find everyone in the Mages Guild sleeping if you go too late at night, so it’s best to wait till the morning before you enter.
Simply head to a Mages Guild, talk to the Guild Master, and select the ‘Join the Mages Guild’ dialogue option. If you can’t find the Guild Master, talk to the other members of the guild, and they’ll point you in their direction.
You won’t have to do any special tasks and can join the guild immediately. However, do keep in mind that you will not be able to join if you have an active bounty on you.
After joining, you’ll get the Mage’s Guild key, which will give you access to your own living quarters in the Mages Guild. Your living quarters have a bed for you to sleep in and storage, and moreover, any item you find in your room is yours to keep.
To advance further in the Mages Guild, you’ll need to complete a recommendation quest from each of the seven cities’ mage guilds. This will give you access to the Arcane University.
