Peacemaker, the latest Mortal Kombat 1 DLC guest fighter is coming to the game on February 28, 2024.
Warner Bros Games and NetherRealm Studios have announced that the DC superhero Peacemaker, starring John Cena is coming to Mortal Kombat 1. NetherRealm Studios posted a trailer earlier today showcasing the gameplay footage for Peacemaker. In addition, the trailer also featured gameplay footage of Janet Cage, a female version of Johnny Cage who will be in the game as a Kameo character.
Peacemaker was first introduced in The Suicide Squad movie in 2021, directed by James Gunn. After a stellar performance in the film, John Cena’s antihero received his spinoff series on HBO Max in 2022, also directed by James Gunn. Peacemaker’s season finale became the best single-day performing episode on Max when it was released. Gunn confirmed that he has completed the script for Peacemaker season 2 and will begin production soon.
Peacemaker is one of the six Mortal Kombat 1 DLC characters coming to the game. Omni-Man from Amazon’s hit animated series Invincible was the first DLC character released on November 9, 2023. Besides Omni-Man and Peacemaker, the studio confirmed that Homelander from The Boys will also come to the game. Other previous Mortal Kombat characters like Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda Takahashi will also come to the game.

Peacemaker Coming To Mortal Kombat 1
In the trailer, the Peacemaker is seen insulting and flirting with Liu Kang, Mileena, and Quan Chi, just like his character does in movies and TV shows. John Cena voiced his character in Mortal Kombat 1, and new voice lines were recorded specifically for the game.
Peacemaker blends gunplay and brawling fighting style in combat. However, it is clear from the start that his attack range is close. He uses close-range punches more than his pistols and is even seen bringing out his shield to launch Liu Kang in the air while summoning his pet eagle to attack enemies.
Peacemaker will be available for early access to Kombat Pack owners starting February 28, 2024. The character will get his full release on March 6, so other players can buy him. Alongside Peacemaker, Janet Cage will also be available as a Kameo character at the same. Mortal Komat 1’s Kombat Pack costs $39.99, included in the Premium Edition of the game, which costs $109.99.
Peacemaker will arrive in Mortal Kombat 1 with the launch of the game’s fourth season in Invasions mode. Developer NetherRealm Studios has announced that Mortal Kombat 1 will add crossplay with cross-platform support on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.
