Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 is almost here. Players are getting excited about the new season as it will introduce new content to the game.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is the latest CoD live service title. The game features almost everything from its predecessor. In addition, the game has a vast weapon pool which it shares with its BR counterpart Warzone 2.0.
The season 3 update is set to feature a new battle pass, a new map, and new weapons, especially the new FJX Imperium sniper rifle. The FJX Imperium is the MW2 that takes on the Intervention sniper rifle from the OG MW2.
Aside from the new content, the new seasonal update will also feature the most awaited Gunfight game mode, which has been a community favorite since MW19. So, let’s look at all the new things coming to Modern Warfare 2 with the Season 3 update.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Expected Changes
New Map
The new map Pelayo’s Lighthouse will be a 6v6 core map. The new map is a medium-scale map set at night, like the new Shipment, with constant rainy weather. Players have constantly been demanding a map set at night, which will finally be fulfilled with the new 6v6 map. Infinity Ward will release more details about the map with the season overview blog post.
New Weapon – FJX Imperium
The Intervention is making its grand return to MW2. Repacked as the FJX Imperium, the new sniper rifle is set to be the highlighted weapon of Season 3. The bolt action sniper rifle is famous for its excellent damage profile and versatility. Recently, FaZe Dirty was invited to IW’s studio, where the streamer was allowed to test the new map and weapon.
New Mode – Gunfight
Gunfight is a 2v2 game mode that gained massive popularity in MW19. The game mode will also introduce the 2v2 tournaments in which players can participate for weapon blueprints and other in-game rewards. Furthermore, gunfight mode will also feature maps similar to the ones in MW19.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Release Date
Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 is scheduled to live on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT. The update will go live on all platforms at the same time.
