Mihoyo is once again suing Genshin Impact leakers for revenue lost because of leaks.

Mihoyo, the developer of Genshin Impact has been cracking down on leakers for a long time now. There was news going around in the Genshin community about a year back that Mihoyo apparently sued a Chinese leaker for thousands of dollars for breaking an NDA.

And, around September of 2021 Mihoyo sued the Chinese Video sharing website Billibilli to identify Genshin Impact leakers. At that time, the reason for this lawsuit was explained as Mihoyo cannot ask Billibilli directly for the information on the leakers, that’s why this roundabout approach to get info on the leakers.

After that, for some time, the Genshin Impact leaks community thought leaking only future character info would save them from the wrath of Mihoyo. But that seems to be not the case as recently an image popped up that showed seven Chinese leakers sued by Mihoyo for a total of $78,200.

A popular Genshin Impact Chinese leaker confirmed that the image is indeed true on his Twitter account. They said,

“This picture is true. One of the seven has already been in a lawsuit with MHY for some time. They wants the seven people to compensate 500,000 yuan (about 78,200 US dollars). The amount of compensation is equal to that of state spies in china.

According to follow-up info, none of the seven leakers signed NDA(Non-Disclosure Agreement). But Mihoyo decided to sue them anyway for the losses incurred due to information leak.
