Metal Slug Tactics sways away from the 2D run-and-gun shooter to an interesting take on turn-based strategy and rogue-lite formula. Thus, the game focuses on replayability with different builds, setups, and tactics. There is no true game-over and players battle with General Morden indefinitely, from the start.
Every time we defeat the final boss, he runs away and the campaign starts from the beginning. However, there is one ending where he does not escape and it feels like a real conclusion to the plot. Getting it is no easy feat, and it would take you more than one run and a lot of careful planning to do it. Hence, this guide walks you through on how to get the True Ending in Metal Slug Tactics.

Metal Slug Tactics – True Ending Guide
For starters, you need to defeat Morden once, and as usual, let him escape and start all over. Then aim to take out the three generals one by one.
Step 1: Take Out All The Generals in Separate Runs
To start the True Ending run in Metal Slug Tactics, you need to start by defeating all three generals in one single campaign. They are – Abbas, Paqar, and O’Neill. However, before you can do this, you have to defeat each one along with a War Machine fight on separate runs as well. War Machines are giant super vehicles of destruction, that were boss battles in the Metal Slug games.
Start on any location and complete the Medal reward missions (You need to complete the missions on all the locations). This will help you to find the next location where you can find a general. Go to the regions that have the Rebel Army symbol, this will ensure the locations are correct. Otherwise, if you pick any other region, the general will not appear and you have to start from the beginning.
As a guide, follow this order to find the three generals.
- Paqar – Argun Palm Desert -> Herkhanet Tombs -> Soursop Jungle
- Abbas – Herkhanet Tombs -> Soursop Jungle -> Argun Palm Desert
- Allen O’Neill – Soursop Jungle -> Argun Palm Desert -> Herkhanet Tombs
After defeating a general in the last region, defeat the War Machine boss. Repeat this two more times on two different runs to take out the other two generals. Now, you can start the final run to get the True Ending.
Step 2: Final Single Run with All Generals and Morden
Now comes the hard part. Start again but now you can beat all three generals and War Machine in the same run. Like before, follow the Rebel Army Symbol on the map to find out which region to go to confront a general. Defeat them, and head to Sirocco City to start the final battle with Morden and his Jupiter King.
This time around, after beating both phases, a new third phase will initiate with the Jupiter King boss. This is quite the challenge and you might fail a few times.
Nevertheless, with a good squad and planning you can overcome Morden’s final boss phase. After you win, the True Ending will play out which appears to show a conclusion to Metal Slug Tactics.
