Not even a month after her release, Mel is receiving some massive changes.

Mel, The Souls Reflection, is the newest champion added to League of Legends. She was added to the game in Patch 15.S1.2, to somewhat of a mixed reception.

One on hand, she is extremely fun to play. She has great damage, and a lot of range, and her W – Rebuttal is literally Yasuo’s Windwall but it also reflects projectiles. Moreover, she has pretty high range, making her laning phase quite safe. On the other hand, she is absolutely horrible to face, the constant poke, high burst, and range make her very frustrating to deal with.

Did I forget to mention her W? This ability not only reflects projectiles it also stops any form of damage for 1 second. So, basically, a Fiora Riposte on steroids. Mel also had 50% on release, which is quite high for a release champion.

That said, Mel did receive some hotfix nerfs in Patch 15.S1.2. However, it seems the nerfs weren’t enough, and thus she is getting some further nerfs in the upcoming patch.

  • Projectile Speed: 5000 >>> 4500

Most of Mel’s abilities are getting nerfed, however, her W-Rebuttal is getting hit the most. Her W is not only getting damage nerfs but its mana cost and duration are also going down. To compensate for the nerfs, both her E and R are getting some additional scaling.

Overall, Riots the goal of the changes is to make her landing phase a little more punishable but make her late game stronger, which these changes should accomplish.
