Everything you need to know about Marvel Rivals’ upcoming event, The Winter Celebration.
Marvel Rivals is a live service hero shooter, featuring iconic Marvel characters such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, etc.
Like other live service games, the developers have promised regular updates for Marvel Rivals, dropping new content during new seasons, as well as limited-time events that will have special goodies for players to unlock, and new things to do.
Marvel Rivals’ first limited-time event is in celebration of the festive season. The Winter Celebration is a holiday-themed event featuring new costumes, new game modes, and more.
When Does The Winter Celebration Start?
The Winter Celebration event will begin at the following times:
- PST: 11:00 PM Dec. 20
- CST: 1:00 AM Dec. 21
- EST: 2:00 AM Dec. 21
- Brazil: 4:00 AM Dec. 21
- UK: 7:00 AM Dec. 21
- CEST: 8:00 AM Dec. 21
- New Delhi: 12:30 PM Dec. 21
- KST/JST: 4:00 PM Dec. 21
We don’t know when this event will end as of now, but there should be a timer in-game when the event begins.
We assume that it will continue through the New Year’s and end early in January.
What New Skins Will Come Out During The Winter Celebration
So far, the developers have confirmed that five characters will be getting new costumes. They are:
- Jeff the Land Shark
- Groot
- Magik
- Rocket Raccoon
- Venom
To get Jeff the Land Shark’s costume, all you need to do is log in to Marvel Rivals while The Winter Celebration event is running, and you’ll get it for free. You’ll also get a Winter Greeting Card from Jeff, which includes some gifts that have not yet been revealed.
It’s unknown, as of now, how you can get the rest of new skins, but we assume you’ll be able to buy it, the same way you would other skins, using the in-game currency during the event. However, they might be a bit more expensive than regular skins.
Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival
There’s also a new game mode you’ll be able to play during the Winter Celebration event, known as Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival.
It is a 4v4 game mode, where all players play as Jeff the Land Shark. The game mode is similar to Nintendo’s Splatoon, where each team must compete to cover the arena with their respective colours, however, in this game mode it’s colored snow rather than paint.
