Riot has officially revealed the upcoming Ashe skin, Lunar Empress Ashe, which will release on patch 13.1.

Lunar New Year is one of the first major cultural events of the year. It is the beginning of the lunisolar calendar, whose months are based on moon cycles. As it is a traditional festival in China, it is also most commonly known as “Chinese New Year.” Moreover, every mainstream and live-service game celebrates this event, and League of Legends is no expectation.

Since 2011, League of Legends has celebrated Lunar New Year in one way or another. In 2011, Riot released only one skin to celebrate the occasion, Lion Dance Kog’Maw. But in the following years, Riot started to release complete skin lines. Some of the beloved Lunar skin lines are Firecracker, Warring Kingdoms, Shan Hai, Lunar Wraith, Lunar Beasts, etc.

As Lunar New Year 2023 is taking place earlier than usual, we will also receive the Lunar skins early.

In Lunar Revel 2022, we received two skin lines, Porcelain and Firecracker. Similarly, in 2023, we will receive two separate skin lines for Lunar New Year, Mythmaker and Lunar Empress. In total, both skin lines will feature 10 unique skins. One of the upcoming skins, part of the Lunar skin line, is Lunar Empress Ashe.

Ashe is a marksman champion, released in 2009. She is considered to be a newbie-friendly champion. And even though she was released in 2009, she did receive some minor visual updates.

As she is a popular pick, Ashe has 14 skins. Furthermore, she has two legendary skins as well, PROJECT: Ashe and High Noon Ashe.
