Gemstones and Prestige points have turned into Mythic Essence with the Mythic Overhaul, and the ways to earn mythic essence are now also different.
Earlier this year, Riot announced the Mythic Content Overhaul occurring in 3 phases. Phase 1 is already here, removing prestige points and converting gemstones into Mythic Essence. Now Players can buy Prestige skins and Gemstone skins with Mythic Essence. In addition, old Gemstone and Prestige skins will rotate in the mythic shop and can be purchased with Mythic Essence.
Phase 2 is supposed to bring milestone rewards for capsules and masterwork chests. So if you buy capsules from the shop, you can complete the milestones and earn extra rewards along with Mythic Essence. Unfortunately, there is no news about the capsule milestone as of now. But Masterwork Chest Milestone is currently on the PBE.
Phase 3 will change how the event pass works and make it more like a more traditional battle pass. But players have to wait some time for that. First, let’s talk about phase 2, as it is imminent.
Masterwork Chest Milestone
Previously, the fastest way to earn prestige points was to buy Masterwork Chests from the store. For example, you could get 13 prestige points from 10 chests. But now, players will get 10 prestige points from 10 chests with the milestone system. But you will get 3 skin shards along the way if you complete the 25 masterwork milestones.
Here are the Masterwork Chest milestone rewards:
- 5 Chests: 1 Skin Shard of any value & 5 Mythic Essence
- 10 Chests: 5 Mythic Essence
- 15 Chests: 1 Skin Shard of 975+ RP value & 5 Mythic Essence
- 20 Chests: 5 Mythic Essence
- 25 Chests: 1 Skin Shard of 1350+ RP value & 5 Mythic Essence
How to Get Masterwork Chest
There are event passes in League, and if you buy the pass and complete all the missions, you can get 25 Mythic Essence for free. But to get more Mythic Essence, you need to open Masterwork chests.
Masterwork Chests can be bought from the client store, and the costs are as follows.
- 1 Masterwork Chest and Key = 225 RP
- 5 Masterwork Chest and Key = 1125 RP
- 10 Masterwork Chests and Keys + 1 Bonus set = 2250 RP
So in order to get 25 Masterwork chests, it will set you back a little more than 5000 RP.
