Riot Games has revealed the first preview for League of Legends Patch 26.19, and the update is shaping up to be an important one ahead of Worlds 2026. Riot balance lead Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison confirmed that Patch 26.19 is the first of two Worlds-focused updates, with Patch 26.20 serving as the Worlds patch.
Patch 26.19 is currently scheduled to go live on September 23, 2026, while Patch 26.20 is scheduled for October 7. Riot notes that scheduled patch dates can still change.

- Patch 26.19 buffs 10 champions, including Aatrox, Fiora, Aphelios, Draven, and Aurora.

Riot has not yet revealed the exact numerical changes for these champions, so the current preview only tells us which characters and systems are being targeted. The final numbers may also change before the patch reaches live servers.
Aatrox, Aphelios, Draven, Fiora, and More Are Getting Buffed
Patch 26.19 has a sizeable buff list, with Riot targeting Elise, Fiora, Volibear, Aatrox, Aphelios, Draven, Kha’Zix, Lillia, and Aurora.
Perhaps the most interesting inclusion is Lucian, who is specifically listed as receiving a buff for mid lane. At the same time, Riot has placed Lucian bot on the nerf list, suggesting the developers want to shift some of his strength toward solo lane without making his ADC performance stronger. The exact mechanics behind this adjustment have not yet been revealed.
Vi, Nocturne, Orianna, Nasus, and More Are Getting Nerfed
On the other side, Riot is targeting several champions that could have a major impact on the upcoming professional meta.
The Patch 26.19 nerf list includes:

Nasus received some additional explanation from Riot. Phroxzon said Riot is comfortable with simple champions being powerful when they have clear strengths and weaknesses, but believes Nasus is currently sitting slightly above the desired power level.
His ability to stack freely in favorable matchups can leave the opposing team with limited ways to prevent him from becoming a major threat later in the game. Riot therefore wants to lower his overall resting power without fundamentally changing how Nasus plays.
Top Lane Teleport Is Getting a Buff
Patch 26.19 will also buff the Top Role Quest Teleport cooldown.
According to Riot, top lane has been weaker than bot lane in some regions at higher skill levels. Rather than broadly increasing top lane power, Riot is targeting Teleport and the upgraded Teleports tied to the Top Role Quest.
The goal is to give skilled top laners more opportunities to influence the rest of the map, particularly when split pushing.
Melee Supports Are Getting More HP Regeneration
Support HP regeneration is also getting adjusted.
Riot says its Patch 26.16 changes successfully reduced early support roaming, particularly in professional play. However, ranged and enchanter supports have since become increasingly dominant.
Patch 26.19 will therefore give melee supports some targeted help with surviving poke, allowing them to remain healthy enough to look for engages instead of being forced out of lane before they can make a play. Riot does not expect this to create a massive meta swing, but hopes it will improve the melee versus ranged support matchup.
Riot Is Also Looking at Ranged Top Laners
Riot also acknowledged ongoing complaints surrounding ranged top laners. The developers believe ranged champions should remain viable in top lane, but agree that overly powerful ranged picks can create frustrating lane states for melee champions.
Smaller systemic changes are being explored to make these matchups more manageable. However, Riot does not want to make a major adjustment immediately before Worlds, and these changes are not confirmed as part of the current Patch 26.19 list.
With Patch 26.20 set to be the Worlds patch, Patch 26.19 appears designed to open up additional champion options while trimming some potential pro-play standouts before Riot locks in the competitive meta for the year’s biggest tournament.
