League of Legends is getting one of those skin drops that feels all over the place in the best way possible. Riot is mixing hard-edged cyberpunk with colorful cosmic weirdness, and the result is a PBE preview lineup that already looks like it will get people arguing over favorites. The new batch includes PROJECT: Yi Mythic Variant, Space Groove Zac, PsyOps Vladimir, and PROJECT: Sivir.

What makes this release stand out is the contrast. Instead of sticking to one theme, Riot is throwing four very different sci-fi flavors into the same drop. You have the cold mechanical menace of PROJECT, the gooey disco chaos of Space Groove, and the psychic neon vibe of PsyOps. Even from these preview shots alone, it already looks like one of those collections where at least one skin is going to instantly click with every kind of League player.

PROJECT Yi Mythic Variant looks like pure cybernetic menace

PROJECT skins live or die by presence, and this Master Yi variant absolutely has it. The armor shown in the preview is sleek, angular, and aggressive, with dark metallic plating broken up by sharp red lighting. The glowing blade and horned helmet give him a much more intimidating silhouette than a standard futuristic reskin.

The big selling point here is that this does not look like a lazy recolor. It has that premium Mythic Variant energy where the whole model feels pushed further into the theme. Yi already fits PROJECT naturally because his kit is built around speed, precision, and slicing people apart before they can react. This version leans fully into that fantasy and makes him look like a machine built for one thing only.

Space Groove Zac might be the wild card winner

Space Groove Zac is probably the strangest skin in the lineup, which is exactly why it has a real shot at being the fan favorite. The preview shows Zac turning into a bubbly, colorful sci-fi blob with floating effects and a much more playful visual style. It looks goofy, bright, and unapologetically weird, which is exactly what Space Groove should be.

Zac skins always work best when Riot fully commits to the absurdity, and this one seems to understand that. Instead of forcing him into some edgy sci-fi mold, the skin embraces his elastic body and turns him into what looks like a dancing cosmic slime experiment. In a lineup full of sharp armor and serious energy, Space Groove Zac is the one who feels like it could steal the spotlight just by being fun.

PsyOps Vladimir gives off heavy mind-control energy

PsyOps Vladimir looks like the most stylish skin of the bunch. In the preview image, he appears wrapped in glowing purple and blue psychic energy, standing in the middle of a recall-like effect that feels mysterious and almost supernatural. It is less about raw technology and more about mental power, which suits Vladimir better than a lot of people might expect.

That is what makes this one interesting. Vladimir has always thrived on dramatic visuals, and PsyOps gives him a cleaner, more elite sci-fi identity without stripping away his flair. It looks controlled, eerie, and expensive. If Riot nails the spell effects, this could easily become one of those sleeper skins that players end up loving way more than they expected.

PROJECT Sivir feels like a perfect fit for the line

If there is one champion here that feels almost made in a lab for this universe, it is Sivir. PROJECT: Sivir in the preview has the same hard-tech aesthetic fans expect from the skin line, with a futuristic weapon design and a sharp, battle-ready silhouette. She looks fast, lethal, and polished, which is pretty much the entire appeal of Sivir as a champion.

PROJECT Sivir

The best PROJECT skins usually make champions feel more dangerous without losing readability, and Sivir seems built for that formula. Her boomerang blade already has the shape and motion to sell a futuristic weapons platform look. This skin just doubles down on it. Out of all four previews, this may be the least surprising pick, but sometimes the obvious choice is obvious because it works.

The best thing about this PBE preview is not just that the skins look good. It is that they do not all look the same. Too many skin drops can start blending together when every champion is shoved into one theme with only minor differences. This set avoids that problem by letting each skin chase a distinct sci-fi identity while still feeling part of a broader futuristic release.

PROJECT Yi Mythic Variant is for players who want edge and prestige. Space Groove Zac is for players who want pure chaos. PsyOps Vladimir is for the crowd that likes sleek, ominous visuals. PROJECT Sivir is the clean crowd-pleaser that feels like it could end up being the safest hit of the bunch. On first look, this is a very smart skin lineup, and honestly, Riot should do more mixed-theme drops like this because they feel way less predictable.
