Riot has revealed the brand new Vayne skin, Dragonmancer Vayne, which will be released on patch 14.1.
While not an old skin line, Dragonmancer skins are some of the unique skins in League of Legends. In this universe, various champions gain powers from different mythical beasts. These beasts are either dragons or phoenixes. Therefore, this alternative universe, Four Beasts, features two skin lines, Dragonmancers and Phoenixmancers.
This skin line was initially released in 2020, with skins like Storm Dragon Lee Sin, Storm Dragon Aurelion Sol, Fae Dragon Ashe, etc. These skins were overall a huge success. So much so that in 2021, they made the second iteration of the skin line that included skins like Truth and Dream Dragon Yasuo, Steel Dragon Thresh, Lagoon Dragon Kai’Sa, etc. In the same year, they also released the second skin line, Phoenixmancer, which was part of the same alternative universe.
Even though after 2021, we didn’t get any new Dragonmancer skins, the first new skins that we are getting in 2024 are the Dragomancer skins. And one of them is the Dragonmancer Vayne.
Not too long ago, we got the Dawnbringer Vayne skin. And from a slight glance, both the Dragonmancer’s and the Dawnbringer’s skins look very similar. So, it is not farfetched to say that Dragonmancer is basically a chroma for the Dawnbringer skin. Therefore, this new Dragonmancer skin is not that unique.
But it doesn’t mean the skin itself looks bad. Dawnbringer Vayne was one of the better-looking Vayne skins. Similarly, Dragonmancer is also of very high quality. The VFX looks amazing. The Recall animation is very great. If this was a legendary skin with some fluid animation, this could have been the best Vayne skin in the game.
One important thing to note is that Dragonmancer Vayne is currently a pre-released PBE skin. So everything is subject to change.
