New leaks suggest Shyvana’s long-awaited rework is finally back on track, and it will arrive alongside League’s upcoming Demacian season.

Back in February 2022, Riot Games held a community poll to decide which champion would receive the next full Visual Gameplay Update (VGU). The result was decisive: Skarner won by a landslide, eventually leading to his full rework arriving in Patch 14.7.

The next in line for a major VGU was Shyvana. However, her long-requested rework was repeatedly delayed. First, development was pushed back due to the extended timeline of the Skarner rework. Later, progress slowed even further following internal restructuring and layoffs that impacted teams responsible for champion VGUs. Since then, Shyvana’s update has largely disappeared from official roadmaps.

As of now, there’s still no formal announcement detailing how Shyvana’s rework will change her kit or when it will release. That said, recent leaks have finally provided new insight into the project’s status and direction.

Shyvana Rework Details Leaked

According to reliable League of Legends leaker Big Bad Bear, the Shyvana rework is progressing smoothly behind the scenes and is no longer stuck in development limbo.

While no exact patch number or release date was shared, the leaker claims the rework is expected to arrive in early 2026. More importantly, Big Bad Bear also revealed that Shyvana’s rework is planned to launch alongside the upcoming Demacian-themed season, strongly suggesting a thematic and narrative connection.

Given Shyvana’s lore ties to Demacia and her half-dragon identity, this pairing would make sense both from a storytelling and visual design standpoint.
