As the Garena servers are shutting down in League of Legends, Riot Games will start an event where all players can gain various rewards in the SEA servers.
League of Legends is one of the most-played games of all time. To keep up with the damnd, Riot Games have servers set up worldwide. Some popular servers controlled by Riot are North America, Europe West, Europe Nordic & East, Brazil, Turkey, Russia, etc.
Besides the Riot-owned servers, there are servers owned and maintained by third-party companies. For SEA regions, Garena had complete control over them.
Garena is a Singaporean Game Developer and Publishing company founded in 2009. Furthermore, Garena is owned by Sea Ltd, formerly known as Garena. Besides developing games, they have published many games in SEA regions, like Heroes of Newearth, Arena of Valor, Call of Duty Mobile, Contra Returns, and most importantly, League of Legends.
Garena has been the publisher of League of Legends for SEA regions. They have servers across Taiwan, Singapore/Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, etc. But as their licensing for League of Legends will end in January of 2023, Riot Games will take over SEA regions for League of Legends.

League of Legends SEA Welcome Event
The migration period from the Garena account to the Riot account will start on 18 November. After migration, to welcome SEA players to the all-new Riot servers, Riot will host several welcome events in League of Legends.
Welcome Missions
Riot will host welcome missions in League of Legends and TFT to celebrate this occasion. Furthermore, Players can unlock various champions and earn Treasure Tokens by completing said missions.
Treasure Tokens
As previously mentioned, players can earn Treasure Tokens by completing Welcome Missions. Players can use the Treasure Tokens to redeem permanent Ultimate Skins, Random Legendary Skins, and Permanent or rare Little Legends eggs.
Unlock Champions
The most significant aspect of this event is that players will receive all champions released from 2009 to 2021 for free. That includes the original cast of characters like Sion, Gangplank, Yi, Annie, Ashe, etc., to recent characters like Gwen, Viego, Akshan, and Vex. In total, players will receive 157 different characters for free. However, players won’t get season 12 champions like Zeri, Renata, Bel’Veth, Nilah, and K’Sante for free.
