League of Legends Patch 26.5 is shaping up to be a carefully tuned update that focuses on correcting power outliers across solo queue and professional play. Riot Games has confirmed that the EUW ranked test has been delayed by another day to ensure stability, signaling a cautious approach after several impactful balance updates earlier in the season. This patch primarily targets champion balance, with a mix of buffs, nerfs, and adjustments aimed at keeping the meta healthy without introducing unnecessary volatility.
Patch 26.5 also reflects Riot’s continued effort to separate Pro Play balance from regular solo queue performance. Several champions that have dominated coordinated environments are being toned down in specific areas, such as early laning strength, vision control, and scaling damage, while underperforming or overcorrected champions are being reevaluated.
Champion Buffs and Power Adjustments in Patch 26.5
Patch 26.5 introduces notable buffs to champions like Garen, Lee Sin, Lillia, Mel, Nocturne, and Volibear, though Volibear’s changes are still being finalized. Garen receives quality of life improvements to his Q movement speed duration and E damage scaling, making his trades more reliable in extended fights. Lee Sin sees increased base damage on both casts of his Q, helping him remain relevant in early skirmishes.
Lillia’s changes partially roll back previous adjustments, increasing her AP ratios on monster healing and abilities while reducing the raw power of her ultimate and extending its cooldown. Riot’s goal is to return her overall strength closer to her pre-adjustment state without letting her dominate jungle clears or teamfights. Mel gains stronger scaling on her abilities, particularly her ultimate, though her minion damage modifier is reduced to keep her wave control in check. Nocturne benefits from lower passive cooldowns and improved movement speed on his Q, reinforcing his identity as a consistent engage threat.

Ranked EUW Test delayed for another day, we’re playing it safe to land the changes without breaking anything
Volibear
- Voli changes are targeted at balancing out his AD builds vs his currently strong AP builds; needs a bit more time to land
Lillia
- We’re looking to pull back on some of the previous changes and bring Lillia’s power level most of the way back to where she was before
Orianna
- Changes are targeted at reducing the power level of her early laning phase, especially when sitting on Rank 1 Q for several levels
Neeko
- Neeko has been strong in Pro Play for a while while not being overly strong in regular play
- We’re taking some power out of her vision outputs which are better used in Pro Play without overly impacting her regular play
Varus
- Varus was overbuffed a while ago and so we’re practically reverting the buff to his Q damage
LPatch 26.5 Full Preview!en the strongest ADC in Pro and so we’re tapping him down to not overrun the Pro metaL
