Riot has unveiled the Patch 14.1b notes for League of Legends.
Patch 14.1 was the first update of this season. It introduced so many additions to League of Legends. Firstly, the entire map was overhauled, which changed the entire flow of the game.
Afterward, Riot Games completely changed the item system. They removed the mythic items and adjusted every item in the game. Alongside that, there were also new items for every single role in the game.
Even though there weren’t major jungle item changes this season, the neutral objectives, especially the top side ones, got massive changes. We got a new neutral objective called Voidgrubs and now you can control the Rift Herald.
With all these, we didn’t get any champion adjustments in this patch. The only champion who got some changes was Hwei because he was too weak.
But now, Riot is rolling out the first proper batch of balance adjustments with patch 14.1b. Here’s every change that is coming to the game.

League of Legends: Patch 14.1b Notes
Champion Buffs
Corki
- Stats
- Base AD: 59 >>> 61
- R – Missile Barrage
- Damage: 80/115/150 (+15/45/75% AD) (+12% AP) >>> 80/115/150 (+25/50/75% AD) (+12% AP)
Corki is a weird outlier. He is pretty strong in Arena and ARAM but very weak in Summoner’s Rift. Even after the new item changes, no regular players want to try them out on Corki. So, he is getting some much-needed buffs.
Ezreal
- W – Essence Flux
- Cooldown: 12 >>> 8 seconds
- E – Arcane Shift
- Mana: 90 >>> 70
Last season, Ezreal was very decent, all things considered. But the new items don’t suit him at all. Thus, alongside the item buffs, Ezreal is getting some buffs too.
Hwei
- Stats
- Health growth: 104 >>> 109
- QQ – Subject: Disaster
- Damage 60/90/120/150/180 (+70% AP) (+4/5/6/7/8% of target’s maximum health) >>> 60/90/120/150/180 (+75% AP) (+4/5/6/7/8% of target’s maximum health)
- EQ, EW, EE – Subject: Torment
- Damage: 60/90/120/150/180 (+60% AP) >>> 70/110/150/190/230 (+60% AP)
- R – Spiraling Despair
- Missile Width: 80 >>> 90
While Hwei’s win rate is increasing, it is still not up to par. So, some slight buffs are still necessary. But I suspect he is going to be broken in pro-play.
Lux
- Stats
- Base Health: 560 >>> 580
- Base Armor: 19 >>> 21
- Attack Speed Growth: 2% >>> 3%
- W – Prismatic Barrier
- Shield Strength: 40/55/70/85/100 (+35% AP) >>> 40/55/70/85/100 (+40% AP)
Even though mid-Lux is quite strong now, support Lux is currently in an abysmal situation. The main reason is that support Lux has difficulty scaling for the late game. Due to this, she is getting some buffs.
Naafiri
- Stats
- Base Movement Speed: 335 >>> 340
- We Are More (Passive)
- Packmate Damage: 5-25 (based on level) (+4.5% bonus AD) >>> 6-30 (based on level) (+4.5% bonus AD)
- Cooldown: 30/25/20/15 seconds (levels 1/6/11/16) >>> 30/25/20/15/10 seconds (levels 1/6/9/12/15)
Since her release, Naafiri has gotten quite a bit of nerfs. With lethality not being as strong as before and players building Profane Hydra, which is also weak, Riot is giving our lovable dog some much-needed love.
Zac
- Cell Division (Passive)
- Passive Heal per Chunk: 4/5/6/7% >>> 5/6/7/8%
- E – Elastic Slingshot
- Cooldown: 24/21/18/15/12 >>> 22/19/16/13/10 seconds
- R – Let’s Bounce!
- Cooldown: 130/115/100 >>> 120/105/90 seconds
Zac is currently one of the worst junglers in the game in terms of win rate. Additionally, Zac doesn’t even use any of the new items as well.
Zed
- W – Living Shadow
- Cooldown: 20/19.25/18.5/17.75/17 >>> 20/19/18/17/16 seconds
- E – Shadow Slash
- Damage: 65/85/105/125/145 (+65% bonus AD) >>> 65/90/115/140/165 (+65% bonus AD)
- R – Death Mark
- Damage: 65% AD (+25/40/55% of damage dealt) >>> 100% AD (+25/40/55% of damage dealt)
When Riot August mentioned that Zed is intentionally weak right now, every Zed main became disappointed. But surprisingly, he is getting some buffs in this micropatch.
Champion Nerfs
Aphelios
- Attack Damage Growth: 3 >>> 2.3
Surprisingly, Aphelios is getting some nerfs in this update. He is not particularly that strong. Even so, the nerfs are unexpected.
Fizz
- Q – Urchin Strike
- Damage: 10/25/40/55/70 (+55% AP) >>> 10/25/40/55/70 (+50% AP)
- W – Seastone Trident
- Active Damage: 50/70/90/110/130 (+50% AP) >>> 50/70/90/110/130 (+40% AP)
Although Aphelios nerfs are expected, the rest of the nerfs in this list are not. With the item changes, almost all of the AP champions became overpowered in this patch. And Fizz is one of them.
Gwen
- A Thousand Cuts (Passive)
- Damage: 1% (+0.8% per 100 AP) of the target’s maximum health >>> 1% (+0.65% per 100 AP) of the target’s maximum health
Gwen is also one of the AP champions who are extremely strong in this patch. Therefore, she is getting some massive nerfs.
Kayle
- Divine Ascent (Passive)
- Zeal Stack Bonus: 6% (+1% per 100 AP) bonus attack speed >>> 6% (+0.5% per 100 AP) bonus attack speed
Although all AP champions are strong, Kayle is in a league of her own. With the new items, she can get to her power spike faster than before. Since she is wreaking havoc in ranked matches, Riot is nerfing her in the next micropatch.
LeBlanc
- Stats:
- Attack Speed Ratio: 0.625 >>> 0.4
- Attack Speed Growth: 1.5% >>> 2.35%
- Attack Damage Growth: 2.7 >>> 2.2
- Q – Sigil of Malice
- Damage: 65/90/115/140/165 (+40% AP) >>> 65/90/115/140/165 (+45% AP)
- E – Ethereal Chains
- Damage: 50/70/90/110/130 (+35% AP) >>> 50/70/90/110/130 (+40% AP)
Even though AP champions are strong, LeBlanc actually isn’t that strong. Even so, she is getting some nerfs.
Singed
- Q – Poison Trail
- Total Damage: 40/60/80/100/120 (+90% AP) >>> 40/60/80/100/120 (+80% AP)
On the other hand, Singed deserves all the nerfs he can get. Singed is currently the strongest champion in the game. He can make proper use of the new strong AP items. Not only that, but Singed can also combine Liandry’s Torment and Riftmaker to make a terrifying combination.
Taric
- Stats:
- Armor Growth: 4.6 >>> 4.3
- W – Bastion
- Bonus Armor: 10/11/12/13/14% of Taric’s armor >>> 9/10/11/12/13% of Taric’s armor
Taric is the only support who is getting nerfed on this patch. Currently, he is very strong as the new support starter item is very versatile. Due to this, Tarik will be getting some minor adjustments in the upcoming patch.
Teemo
- Q – Blinding Dart
- Damage: 80/125/170/215/260 (+80% AP) >>> 80/125/170/215/260 (+70% AP)
- R – Noxious Trap
- Total Damage: 200/325/450 (+55% AP) >>> 200/325/450 (+50% AP)
Teemo is as strong as Kayle in this update. Therefore, he is also getting some adjustments as well.
