Riot Games is introducing massive changes to the durability of all champions in League of Legends.
Playing squishy carries in League of Legends can be a nightmare sometimes. We’ve all seen countless videos of ADCs getting one-shot by assassins. It is frustrating to see your health go from 100 to 0 in half a second. There is often no chance for counterplay. Even positioning perfectly doesn’t always save you.
As a result, it ruins the overall League of Legends experience. Also, it makes teamfights confusing and short. Players often fail to realize what killed them in the blink of an eye, let alone have a chance to deal damage and outplay their opponents. But Riot is completely shaking up the durability of all the champions in League of Legends.
In their recent dev post, Riot announced that they would change the durability of all the champions. They said, “In patch 12.10, we will be introducing some changes to increase the durability of every champion on the roster to reduce the overall amount of damage in League.”
Riot will be looking to accomplish the following stats:
- Base Health
- Health per Level
- Armor per Level
- Magic Resist per Level
According to Riot, this increase in durability also necessitates some adjustments to the surrounding systems of the rift to make sure they are correctly tuned relative to the increased durability.
Let’s dive deeper into the changes and get a more detailed view.

Thoughts on The Changes
This is one of Riot’s most significant changes to League of Legends since they combined runes and masteries in 2017.
In 2017, Riot only changed champions’ stats to make up for the lack of runes. So in a sense, this is the biggest change in League of Legends in a while and will completely change the meta. It will strengthen ADCs as they can survive longer. On the other hand, Assassins will need to be more ahead to one-shot squishy champions.
Release Date of Durability Update in League of Legends
Riot has already announced the release date of the Durability Update, and it will be in patch 12.10 on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. And the changes will be on PBE at the end of this week.
