Warzone 2.0 is getting its first resurgence map. Ashika Island is the new haven for Resurgence players coming with the Season 2 update.
Call of Duty Warzone 1 has been a massive success. The first map, Verdansk, featured the traditional BR game mode. However, Activision later moved on with the new Resurgence game mode, which became an instant hit in the community.
Resurgence’s popularity contributed to Warzone getting two small maps- Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep. Warzone 2.0 took the place of Warzone 1, becoming its official successor. However, the Resurgence game mode was not available during Season 1.
Fortunately, Infinity Ward has decided to add Resurgence game mode with the new map Ashika Island coming with Season 2. Most players and content creators have shared positive reactions to the new map. Warzone guru JGOD also shared his opinion on the new map.

JGOD’s Opinion on Ashika Island
In a recent video, JGOD discussed the new map. His initial reaction to the map was positive. However, James talked about how the new color choice strayed from a vibrant color scheme to a more 2009-ish grey palette.
The new map has an overcast sky instead of a brighter one, like Al Mazrah. James further shed light on how it eliminates the problem of the bright sun, which has been a massive issue since Warzone 1. However, he also explained how he would like the map to be more colorful and more vibrant.

Aside from the lighting and color palette issue, JGOD’s reaction to the map has been positive overall. He further discussed how the POIs- Castle and Town Center will be large conflict zones and might become hot drops for high-kill games.
