CoD expert JGOD has pointed out a few campaign mechanics that might be a part of DMZ. The Tarkov-inspired game mode is IW’s take on the survival sub-genre.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the direct sequel to Modern Warfare (2019). Like every Call of Duty title, this game is getting multiplayer along with other game modes such as Domination, Hardpoint, Realism, Search and Destroy, etc.
While these game modes were part of most CoD titles, we will be getting a new Warzone game mode this year. Infinity Ward plans to introduce a game mode similar to Escape from Tarkov. However, the “DMZ” game mode will be built on Call of Duty’s basic game mechanics.
Although not many details about the “DMZ” have been revealed, it seems like players have gotten a glimpse of what to expect from it. Warzone expert JGOD also pointed out these game mechanics meant for DMZ.

JGOD Highlights Campaign Mechanics
In a recent tweet, JGOD shared his gameplay of the mission “Alone,” where Soap has to survive and escape to a church. During his playthrough, he comes across a locked tac box that must be opened with a pry tool. However, that pry tool must be crafted after collecting materials.
The new “crafting” mechanic is a unique addition to the game and was not present in any other past titles. As most players speculated, this mechanic is a teaser to DMZ’s brand-new game mechanics. JGOD reiterates that the whole looting and crafting mechanic will be a core mechanic for DMZ.
Most players were thrilled to see the new features. However, T0anto stated one concern surrounding these mechanics: it will be an excellent addition for a PvE mode but not for a PvPvE mode. PvPvE modes are highly competitive, and most players will wait for other players to unlock the chest and later on snatch it from them by eliminating them.
Although these are just speculations, most doubts regarding the “DMZ” mode will be cleared after MW2’s official launch on October 28, 2022. So stay frosty as we count the days for the most awaited title of this year.
