As Nexus Blitz is right around the corner, Riot has changed Ivern to fit with the returning mode.
Not too long ago, Riot released a new dev log. In there, they revealed that Nexus Blitz would be coming back to League of Legends in patch 13.21.
Nexus Blitz is an experimental game mode released in season 8 for alpha testing. Furthermore, it was later brought back in season 10 in the Spirit Blossom event. In addition, this game mode took place on the map, The Temple of Lily and Lotus.
The main gimmick of Nexus Blitz was the random events. These events happened once every 3 minutes of a game. Some random events included Bardle Royale, Push the Cart, King of the Hill, URF Deathmatch, etc. Moreover, Winning these events would grant the winning team various buffs, like spawning the Poro King, equipping the Turrets and Canon Minions with Blitzcrank’s Q, etc.
While Nexus Blitz was disabled, it wasn’t permanently removed. Riot did try to bring this game mode back in season 12. However, due to technical issues, they could not bring it back. However, as the mode is making a triumphant return in the next patch, a lot of the champions will be receiving some mode-specific changes. One of these champions is Ivern.

Nexus Blitz: Ivern New Passive
Ivern’s current passive is called Friend of the Forest. With this passive, Ivern cannot damage neutral monster camps. Instead, he has to place a grove. Once the grove matures, he can gain the XP and gold from the monster, and that monster disappears.
However, in Nexus Blitz, there are two junglers per team. Due to the map differences, his passive doesn’t work properly in the mode. Because of this, the last time Nexus Blitz was enabled, Ivern was disabled for this mode. But this time, they are giving Ivern a new passive to make him work for this new mode.
Now, with his new passive Enemy of the Forest, he can damage a neutral monster camp, and they will, in return, attack him. It basically turns him into a traditional jungler.
With this change, players can enjoy Ivern in the upcoming returning mode with their heart’s content.
