Each character has its stats from the start. But the stats can be changed by equipping different armor and gears. The additional set gives a bonus to different attributes and simultaneously removes points from other attributes.

Unlock All Gear Set in Mario Strikers: Battle League
You can find six different gear sets in Mario Strikers: Battle League. Among them, five sets are considered normal/standard sets, and the last is a hidden set. Every set has four different pieces. These pieces are Helmet, Gauntlets/Gloves, Chest/Pad, and Boots. The five normal sets are:
- The Muscle Set: +2 Strength & -2 one of the other attribute
- The Chain Set: +2 Passing & -2 one of the other attribute
- The Cannon Set: +2 Shooting & -2 one of the other attribute
- The Trick Set: +2 Technique & -2 one of the other attribute
- The Turbo Set: +2 Speed & -2 one of the other attribute

How to Unlock Normal Sets in Mario Strikers: Battle League
In Mario Strikers: Battle League, normal/standard sets can be bought from the start of the game. However, all five sets and four different pieces of a set need to be purchased to complete a set. Each piece of a standard set costs 100 coins. So you will need 400 coins to complete a set.
Also, if you want to use the same set on two different characters, you will have to buy them separately. You cannot use the gear you purchased for one character on the other character.
There are a few ways you can earn coins in Mario Strikers: Battle League. Quick battle gives 20-30 coins for each match. So it is an ok way to earn some money. But if you quickly want to buy gears for characters, you need to complete cup battles. Cup Battles give you a lot of coins that you can use to buy gears.
How to Unlock Bushido Set in Mario Strikers: Battle League
Bushido Set is the most powerful set you can get in Mario Strikers: Battle League. Like every other set, it also has four pieces. Each of the pieces gives +4 to one of the attributes.
For example, Bushido Helmet gives +4 Passing, Bushido Bracers gives +4 technique, and so on. At the same time, each piece of bushido set takes -1 from all the attributes except the one it increases. To unlock the bushido set, you need to play the Cup Battle on Normal Difficulty.
Winning Cup battle on normal difficulty will unlock the Bushido Set. Then you can buy each piece of the set for 300 coins from the shop. Thus, the full set will cost you 1200 coins for each character.
After playing Cup Battle on normal difficulty, you can unlock Galactic mode. Winning on Galactic mode gives you 1000 coins. This makes getting the Bushido set easier since it is pretty expensive.
