What Causes Low FPS in Immortals of Aveum?

Immortals of Aveum is built on Unreal Engine 5.1. The game also uses UE5.1’s latest features like Lumen, Nanite, World Partition, and Metahumans. Consequently, the game demands high PC specs to run these features smoothly.

Even as minimum system requirements, Immortals of Aveum asks for at least an Intel i7-9700/Ryzen 7 3700x, 16 GB of RAM, and an RTX 2080 Super/RX 5700XT. So, having lower PC specs than the ones mentioned might cause you to get low FPS and frequent stuttering in Immortals of Aveum.

Unironically, having DLSS turned on may also cause low FPS and stutter issues due to the lack of optimization. However, as we mentioned earlier, even with high PC configurations, players are facing performance issues. If that’s the case for you, it may be due to an outdated graphics driver or Windows.

Moreover, if you are 12th/13th generation Intel CPU user and are getting lower FPS and stuttering, it may be because of the E-core feature. Although the reason is unknown, it is, in fact, happening to many.

How to Fix Low FPS in and Stuttering Immortals of Aveum (A Step-by-Step Guide)

As we discussed above, there can be multiple reasons why Immortals of Aveum has low FPS and frequent stuttering. As the game just went live, it’s normal for there to be some bugs or inadequate optimization. However, sometimes the FPS drop or stutter may occur from the client side, which can be fixed by following these steps:

1. Optimize in-game Graphics Settings

Immortals of Aveum uses Unreal Engine 5.1. So, despite the incredible visuals, the game puts a heavy burden on your PC. So, optimizing your in-game video settings can help you improve your FPS and reduce stuttering substantially.

If you’re using a PC that meets only the minimum system requirements, you should set the overall Graphics settings to Low. However, if you’re using a high-end PC, here are the video settings you should change to get more FPS and no stuttering without losing much visual clarity.

2. Turn DLSS Off

For some PCs, keeping DLSS on seems to have a negative impact on the game’s performance. It may not make sense to you, but EA directly suggested it through its Answers HQ forum. So, try disabling DLSS if you’re using it and see if you find any improvement. If not, then revert back to using DLSS.

To update Windows 10 and 11:

  • Go to Search. Type Windows Update and press enter
  • Click on Check for updates
  • Download and install the update

5. Disable E-cores from BIOS Settings

Oddly enough, if you have a 12th or 13th generation Intel CPU, try disabling E-core from the BIOS settings. Apparently, Unreal Engine has issues with the 12th and 13th generation Intel CPUs, making them unstable to run the game with E-cores on.

Although it may not help increase FPS, it will help with the stuttering issues. However, do it only after you’ve tried every method mentioned before.
