The sequel to Hogwarts Legacy might be under development at Avalanche Software, according to new job listings.
Hogwarts Legacy brought the Harry Potter and the wizarding world back to the gaming industry in 2023. Developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros Games, Hogwarts Legacy became the biggest game of last year after selling more than 24 million copies worldwide. From attending classes to learning new spells, the game featured a lot of new things that previous Harry Potter games never offered before.
However, Hogwarts Legacy missed a few key features in the game that were very crucial in the Harry Potter series. Most notably, the game did not feature Quidditch, the most popular sport in the Harry Potter universe.
New report suggested that Avalanche Software might be working on the sequel of Hogwarts Legacy already. A job listing from the Warner Bros website indicated that the publisher is hiring for the sequel and hinted that the project will be based on Unreal Engine 5.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 Under Development?
According to Warner Bros’ job listing, Avalanche Software studio is looking for a Senior Character Artist with experience in Unreal Engine 4 and Unreal Engine 5 for its next big project. Although the job advertisement did not mention Hogwarts Legacy specifically, it is the only project the studio is reportedly working on.
The job listing mentions that the studio is looking for a Senior Character Artist who should have “experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine 4/5”. The advertisement said, “Join the team behind the blockbuster open world, action RPG Hogwarts Legacy” in the description, but it didn’t state which project the studio is hiring for.
The advertisement mentioned that the studio is hiring an artist experienced with Unreal Engine 5, suggesting that the next Hogwarts Legacy could be created using the latest game engine. Considering the success of Hogwarts Legacy, the studio could be working on the sequel with more features and a more interesting open-world design and gameplay.
