A fresh Grand Theft Auto 6 rumor is giving PC players a reason to pay attention again. According to a post from DetectiveSeeds, three former Rockstar employees reportedly said GTA 6 is currently aiming for a PC release in February 2027, though all of them also cautioned that the timeline could still change. The same post claims Rockstar and Take Two want the game out before the end of fiscal year 2027, which would mean no later than March 31, 2027.

That is the part that makes this rumor stand out. It is not just throwing out a random month. It lines up with Take Twoโ€™s fiscal calendar and with the long-running expectation that GTA 6 will come to PC after its console debut, not on the same day. Still, it is important to keep expectations in check because Rockstar has not officially announced a PC version yet. As of now, the gameโ€™s official website only lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The GTA 6 PC Release Window Rumor

The rumor comes from DetectiveSeeds on X, who said they contacted more than 90 people through LinkedIn and received replies from three former Rockstar employees. According to that post, all three pointed to February 2027 as the current target for the GTA 6 PC version, while also stressing that the internal timeline could shift. That detail matters because it frames the report as a limited sourcing claim rather than a formal leak or official confirmation.

That also means fans should treat this as exactly what it is: a rumor. Three sources are still only three sources, especially when Rockstar has said nothing publicly about a PC date. At the same time, the claim has gained traction because it sounds believable within Rockstarโ€™s usual release pattern and because the report specifically ties the timing to the end of Take Twoโ€™s fiscal year.

February 2027 Sounds Plausible

Rockstar has already confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. If the rumored February 2027 target is accurate, that would put the PC release only a few months behind the console launch. Compared to Rockstarโ€™s older staggered releases, that would be a much shorter wait than many fans were expecting.

The fiscal year angle also gives the rumor a bit more weight. Take Twoโ€™s investor materials consistently define its fiscal years as ending on March 31. So when the report says the company wants GTA 6 on PC out before the end of FY27, that translates to a release window ending in March 2027. February 2027 fits neatly inside that window.

Rockstar Still Has Not Announced a GTA 6 PC Version

This is the biggest catch. No matter how believable the rumor may sound, Rockstar has not officially listed PC among GTA 6โ€™s announced platforms. The companyโ€™s Grand Theft Auto VI page currently only mentions PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstarโ€™s official delay announcement focused on the console release date without mentioning a PC version either.

That silence is why this story is likely to spark so much discussion. PC players know a version is probably coming eventually, but โ€œprobablyโ€ is not the same thing as confirmed. Until Rockstar says it out loud, every release window floating around online should be treated as speculation first and news second.

If February 2027 is truly the internal target, that would be a pretty big shift in expectations. A lot of fans were bracing for a much longer delay between console and PC, especially given Rockstarโ€™s history. A launch before the end of March 2027 would mean the gap is relatively small for a game this massive, which would be welcome news for anyone planning to play on higher-end hardware. This is an inference based on Rockstarโ€™s announced console timing and the rumorโ€™s claimed PC window, not an official rollout plan.

It would also suggest Rockstar and Take Two are trying to tighten the gap between platforms without fully committing to a same-day release. That would make sense for a game with this kind of scale, where optimization, testing, and anti-cheat concerns on PC can add extra time even after the console version is ready. That said, the sourcing in this rumor is still too limited to treat any of that as a settled fact.

Right now, the February 2027 GTA 6 PC rumor feels believable, but it is still just a rumor. The report claims three former Rockstar employees pointed to that date and said Take Two wants the game released before the end of fiscal year 2027. The official facts, however, are much simpler: Rockstar has confirmed GTA 6 for November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and there is still no official PC announcement.
