In brief
- Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premieres on Netflix on August 27 at 3 PM ET.
- The presentation has a listed runtime of approximately 26 minutes.
- Netflix says the entire extended look was captured from in-game footage running on PlayStation 5.
- Rockstar will release the presentation on YouTube and the official GTA VI website six hours later at 9 PM ET.
GTA 6 Extended Look Netflix Premiere Time
Netflix subscribers around the world will be able to watch Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look starting Thursday, August 27 at 3 PM ET.

Netflix describes this as a first-of-its-kind partnership with Rockstar Games, with Netflix members getting the first opportunity to see the new GTA VI presentation.
The Netflix listing currently shows a runtime of 26 minutes, making this considerably longer than the traditional GTA VI trailers released so far.
GTA 6 Extended Look Was Captured Entirely on PS5
One of the biggest details Netflix added to its announcement concerns the hardware being used for the presentation. Netflix states that Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look was “captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5.”
Netflix does not mention the PS5 Pro anywhere in its statement, which has led to the footage being widely interpreted as running on the standard or base PS5. However, the official wording only specifies “PlayStation 5,” so Rockstar and Netflix have not explicitly confirmed the phrase “base PS5.”
Either way, the footage being presented as genuine in-game PS5 footage should give players a much better idea of what Rockstar is targeting on console.
GTA 6 Extended Look Will Come to YouTube Later
The presentation will only be temporarily exclusive to Netflix. Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will be released on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the GTA VI website at 9 PM ET on August 27, six hours after its Netflix premiere.

Netflix has also confirmed global availability for subscribers, with subtitles offered in several languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese and more.
When Does GTA 6 Release?
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The game follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as they become caught in a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida. With a 26-minute extended look arriving just months before release, Rockstar is finally preparing to show considerably more of what players can expect from its next open-world blockbuster.
