HoYoverse has recently announced an event to celebrate Genshin’s one of the most beloved characters, Xiao’s birthday in 2023.
Genshin Impact is an action-adventure game developed by HoYoverse, previously known as MiHoYo. Since its release, Genshin Impact has grabbed the attention of gamers worldwide. Genshin Impact is mainly free to play with a gacha monetization system, meaning players can spend real-world currency to get primogems and wish for their favorite characters and weapons.
Many gamers who never tried gacha games before were intrigued by Genshin and gave it a shot. Since Genshin Impact makes money from the gacha system, they are very careful with the design of their characters and weapons. All of the characters in Genshin have intricate backstories, designs, and fun gameplay.
One of the most popular characters in Genshin Impact is Xiao. Xiao is a 5* Anemo Polearm user. He is the sole surviving member of the Liyue Yakshas. During the Archon War, Morax tasked Xiao and the other Yakshas to subdue the demonic spirits. To this day, Xiao is still performing his duties.
Xiao Birthday Message Official Twitter
Today, the 17th of April, is Xiao’s Birthday. The Genshin community is celebrating Xiao’s birthday in various ways. The official Genshin Impact Twitter account released artwork in a Twitter post for Xiao’s birthday celebration. It reads,
“Happy Birthday, #Xiao!
There is nothing out of the ordinary about today until I saw you in the distance. With that being so… After finishing this Almond Tofu, would you like to go on patrol with me?”
They also released a 7-minute long video on YouTube showing the recipe for Xiao’s favorite food Almond Tofu.
Xiao Birthday In-Game Message
Players can also see in-game mail from Xiao complete with a message and claimable rewards. The message reads,
“If You Have Time…
Sender: Xiao
Time/Date: 2023-04-17 21:58
I paid a visit to Moon Carver today.
He was immediately alarmed and asked me if something important happened.
…I was simply following your advice and met up with an old friend I haven’t seen in a while.

During the event, post your birthday wishes for Xiao under the comments section of the event post and your participation will have been deemed successful (Deleting your comment or replying to another comment on the post will not count as a successful entry.)
