The new 4 star joiing the Genshin Impact roster is Ororon. How good will he be? Should you plan on investing on him? Follow this guide to find out!

We have already encountered Citlali’s grandson Ororon in the 5.1 archon quest. He is one of the namebearers in Natlan and plays a crucial role against the war with abyss. He is going to be playable in from the 5.2 version of the game and it is confirmed by Hoyoverse.

Now you might be wondering whether he should be a good fit for you or not. Although he is a 4 star, early leaks suggests he is going to be a remarkable sub-dps unit for niche teams, especially with constellations.

So, is Ororon worth the pull? That is what I will be discussing in this early Ororon guide. Keep in mind that all of this info is based upon the leaks from the latest beta tests and can be changed before final release.

Ororon Kit Explained

The latest 4 star of Genshin Impact is an electro bow user who focuses on electro charged reactions. As electro charged will getting a buff in the recent patch, he is the ideal character to build up in this scenario.

He provides generous amount of attack buff (especially in C6) and also provides good amount of electro damage bonus to increase his personal DPS output.

Normal Attack

Ororon will perform the standard attacks of a bow character. On mid air his charged attack will slow down his movement and he will be floating in the air for the time being. Normal attacks aren’t the main source of his damage or supporting capabilities.

Elemental Skill

Electro charged is the main source of damage for Ororon and you can easily apply electro on opponents with his elemental skill. Upon pressing his elemental skill Ororon will throw spirit orb which will bounce around opponents (3 at a time). This skill offers some great damage multipliers.

Elemental Burst

The biggest source of damage to Ororon’s kit is his burst. Along with a nuke, Ororon will summon a supersonic oculus which will taunt and attack opponents with nighsoul aligned electro damage for 9 seconds.

Passives

The main source of Ororon’s damage and usefulness comes from his A1 and A4 passive.

A1: When a nearby party member triggers Nightsoul Burst, Ororon will gain 40 Nightsoul points. Within 15s after using his Elemental Skill, when nearby active characters deal Hydro DMG or Electro DMG, Ororon will gain 5 Nightsoul points, an effect that can occur every 0.3s for a maximum of 10 times during this 15s duration.

Also, when nearby opponents take Electro-Charged reaction DMG or Nightsoul-aligned DMG dealt by other nearby characters, Ororon will consume 10 Nightsoul points (provided he has at least that amount), entering the Nightsoul’s Blessing state and triggering the Hypersense effect: Deal Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG based on 130% of Ororon’s ATK to at most 4 nearby opponents. The aforementioned effect can trigger once every 1.8s.

A2:  After the Elemental Skill Night’s Tightrope’s Spirit Oculus hits an opponent, Ororon will gain the Aspect Sigil effect for 15s. This happens when a nearby active party member deals Hydro DMG or Electro DMG, that character will restore 3 Energy. If Ororon is off-field, Ororon will also restore 3 Energy. This effect can trigger once every 1s, and can trigger 3 times per duration.

This is what makes Ororon stand out from the rest of the cast when it comes to electro charged damage!

My Personal Thoughts

His passives alone already make him a standout sub DPS for electro charged focused teams. His constellations only make this more appealing to the eyes. For these reasons, I think Ororon is equivalent to what Chevreuse is to Overloaded teams. This makes him a must pull for me. I can already see him getting paired up with Xinque, Yae, Furina easily.
