We will be getting 2 new artifact sets in Genshin Impact 5.5 and one of the seems to indicate how Skirk might playout in the game.

With the Natlan story quest wrapped up, Genshin Impact is setting up their new route towards the abyss. And with the 5.3 livestream strongly hinting Skirk is coming soon, we have some new materials regarding her playstyle. This is quite common from Hoyoverse but take it with a grain of salt.

Genshin Impact will release two new artifact sets as soon as 5.5 version is released. These two artifact sets cater to the upcoming characters. One of these characters is Varesa, an electro DPS releasing in 5.5. The other artifact is most likely for Skirk who will be coming in Genshin Impact 5.7.

Genshin Impact New Artifact Leaks

First Set (For Varesa)

Set BonusEffect
2-Piece SetIncreases Plunging Attack damage by 25%.
4-Piece SetWhen the wielder’s Plunging Attack, Charged Attack, or Elemental Skill hits an enemy, they gain stacks of “Everlasting Radiance”, respectively.
Can be triggered once per second by Plunging Attacks, Charged Attacks, or Elemental Skills.
Everlasting RadianceEach stack increases Plunging Attack damage by 15% for 6 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. Each stack’s duration is calculated independently.

This artifact is perfect for characters that uses the plunge damage as main source of DPS. The characters apart from Varesa who will benefit from this is Xiao. On paper this artifact will increase the plunge damage of a character by 75%.

Second Set (For Skirk)

Set BonusEffect
2-Piece SetIncreases Cryo DMG Bonus by 15%.
4-Piece SetWhen the wielder’s Energy is 0, Normal Attack damage is increased by 60%, and Elemental Burst damage is increased by 60%. After the wielder’s Normal Attack deals damage, the Elemental Burst damage bonus is disabled for 6 seconds. After the wielder’s Elemental Burst deals damage, the Normal Attack damage bonus is disabled for 6 seconds.
These effects can be triggered even when the character is off-field

This artifact set suggests that Skirk might have two modes or damage option. Considering how Childe switches stances, she might do that with her burst and normal attacks. While I can’t say without proper tests, this looks like Skirk will be either a quick swap DPS or burst DPS.

But at the same time, the zero energy factor makes her almost identical to how Mavuika functions. This is highly possible as Skirk is the next big character that will be introduced in the game and she deserves some unique mechanics.
