Genshin Impact’s version 2.7 update has been postponed, and the Ayaka banner extended due to the ongoing lockdown situation in Shanghai. Here’s what we know so far.
Mihoyo officially announced today that Genshin Impact version 2.7 had been postponed indefinitely. The Chinese developers announced on Twitter, “Due to project progress, the Version 2.7 update will be postponed. For detailed information on the date of the new update, content adjustment plan, and compensation, please stay tuned for upcoming announcements.”

The delay comes from the continued lockdown in Shanghai, where miHoYo is based. Shanghai is entering its fifth week of lockdown, and the lack of ability to work from their offices is certainly impacting miHoYo developers. Many players replied on social media platforms wishing the developers to stay safe rather than focus on the game. Many others said that no compensation would be necessary as Genshin Impact often gives out free Primogem(premium in-game currency) when updates are delayed.

In another Twitter post, “Zephyr of the Violet Garden Phase-III” banner in-game has been extended to 240 days. The countdown on the event banners is not the definitive end date and is just a placeholder. The end date will be updated when there is a new announcement.

In phase three of the version 2.6 update, “Overflowing Mastery” and “Spices From the West”, two events will be available for the players in-game.

After this delay, players have a great chance at getting Kamisato Ayaka and her signature weapon Mistsplitter Reforged.
