Mihoyo has recently revealed the date and time when the preinstallation feature will be available for Genshin Impact v2.1.
Genshin Impact v2.1 is coming out on September 1, 2021, and most of the player base is hyped to the max. The new update is going to introduce two more new islands to the game for exploration. Genshin Impact will also add many new story quests and side quests to the game as well.
Genshin Impact has a preinstallation feature that lets players download update files before the actual update goes live. This feature allows players to play the game with the update going on and then jump straight into the game to enjoy the new content instead of waiting hours for the update to finish.
RecRecently Mihoyo revealed exactly when the preinstallation feature will be available for players to download for the v2.1 update.

The Genshin Impact v2.1 Preinstallation will begin from 30th September 11:00 (UTC+8) until the update goes live.

The following guide from the official Genshin Impact blog post will help players with the preinstallation feature.
Mobile (iOS & Android)
Method 1: Travelers may begin pre-installing update resources by going to the Paimon Menu > Settings > Other > Pre-Install Resource Package.
Method 2: Travelers may also begin pre-installing update resources by tapping the “Pre-Install Resource Package” icon in the bottom-left corner of the login screen.
When the version update is released, Travelers on iOS devices must enter the App Store and tap “Update.” Android users may open the game and follow the directions on-screen (or open Google Play and tap “Update”).
Using the pre-installation function will reduce the time that the game spends updating resources on the first time you enter a new version, even if you did not fully complete pre-installation.
PC:
After the pre-installation function is available, you must first update the Genshin Impact Launcher. After updating the launcher, a “Game Pre-Installation” button will appear to the left of the “Launch” button. Click “Game Pre-Installation” to download the latest game resources.
Using the pre-installation function can speed up the update progress of the launcher during version updates.
