The latest livestream of Genshin Impact showcased what players will encounter in this version update. From region expansion to story quests, there are a lot of new things that are being added to the game.
Genshin will also be celebrating its 3-year anniversary in this patch. That being said, the generosity of miHoYo remains scarce on this anniversary as well. We are not getting a free 5-star character, but there are rewards & events to enjoy.
So, follow this guide if you haven’t caught up on the livestream or just want to know what you can expect in this new version. We will discuss all the major events and details you will encounter in Genshin Impact version 4.1.
Things that are Coming in Version 4.1
Here is the list of things that are coming in this latest version:
New Area
Players will be able to journey further into Fontaine’s undiscovered location. The overworld area that was affected by the Fontaine Research Institute has undergone some changes. There are places where the landscape is just in the air.
You will have to infiltrate the underground prison area where the tedious stealth mechanic of Genshin Impact will return.
New 5-Star Characters
There will be two new 5-star characters in the version 4.1:
- Neuvillette &
- Wriothesley
The first banner will be Neuvillette and Hutao, and the second banner will be Wriothesley & Venti. Neuvillette is a Hydro catalyst character, while Wriothesley will be the first 5-star Cryo catalyst character in the game.

New 5-Star & 4-Star Weapons
Two new 5-star weapons will be released to accompany the new characters.
- Tome of Eternal Flow
- Cashflow Supervision
There weren’t any additional details about the 5-star signature weapons in the livestream, but we speculate they will be DPS-oriented.
Along with the 5 stars, a new 4-star series is being released in version 4.1. this will include a sword, claymore, spear & bow.
New Archon Quest & Story Quests
Genshin version 4.1 update comes with new archon quests, which will cover Acts 3 & 4 of the Hydro archon questline. You will encounter the ‘Knave’ Arlecchino in this questline as well.
Apart from the archon quest, story quests of the newly released 5-star characters will become available.
New Enemies
Players will encounter two new world bosses:
- Experimental Field Generator
- Millennial Pearl Seahorse
A new pair of standard enemies from the fatui faction called operatives will enter the game. You will face frost & wind operatives representing cryo & anemo affinity. Clockwork mecha enemies will be encountered in underwater areas now.
New Events & Rewards
Waterborne Poetry
The major event on this version of the game is ‘Waterborne Poetry,’ where players will have to play minigames consisting of breaking holding pots, combat events, and picture collection events.
Players will be able to gain a 4-star catalyst called the ‘Ballad of Boundless Blue’ after completing this event.
Dodoco’s Bomb-Tastic Adventure
Klee has returned with her gleeful smile, and now you will have to accompany her by playing a minigame. Here, you will have two different types of jumpty dumpties and destroy obstacles. It’s a pretty simple arcade-type minigame.
Radiant Harvest
Here, you will have to go underwater and collect jellyfish before the time runs out. You will get primogems and other in-game rewards from this event.
The Peaks and Troughs of Life
The Peaks and Troughs of Life is a combat event that is more focused on endgame players who want to try out their builds. Newcomers can get the rewards on lower difficulty. So, don’t worry if you haven’t maxed out everything in the game.
You will have to make three teams and face enemies with a buff mechanic that will boost your damage when you perform captures/clicks in time.
Overflowing Mastery
Lastly, players will have the overflowing mastery event, where they will have a double reward for talent books up to 3 times per daily reset.
Anniversary Story Quests & Rewards
Genshin Impact version 4.1 will also host the 3rd year anniversary of the game, where miHoYo will reward the players with
- 10 intertwined fate
- 1600 primogems
- 4 fragile resins
- Gelatinous Bubble Generator ( A bubble gun)
- Itty Bitty Octobaby (Octopus pet)
- Top-up bonus reset
- TCG events
Quality of Life Improvements
Daily commissions get a revamp with encounter points, which will allow players to interact with companion characters in the game. These companion encounters will act as a daily quest reward so that you will get your 10 primogems and additional rewards.
Adventure rank ascension will get a nerf to help out new players. And that’s all the things that you will get in the new Genshin Impact version 4.1.
