Everything Coming in Marvel Rivals Season 1
New Heroes: The Fantastic Four
![Fantastic Four Coming in Marvel Rivals Season 1](https://gameriv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Fantastic-Four-Coming-in-Marvel-Rivals-Season-1.jpg)
Season 1 introduces Marvel’s first family, the Fantastic Four, divided across the season:
- Mr. Fantastic (Duelist): Master flexible plays with Reed Richards at launch.
- Invisible Woman (Strategist): Provide unparalleled team utility and defense starting Day 1.
- The Thing (Vanguard): Smash enemies midseason with Ben Grimm’s unparalleled tankiness.
- Human Torch (Duelist): Light up the battlefield with Johnny Storm in the latter half of the season.
Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman will join the roster immediately. After the end of the first half of the season The Thing and Human Torch will follow suit. Keep in mind that this season is 3 months long so there is a lot of time to get and master these characters.
These iconic characters add depth and variety to Marvel Rivals’ roster, and their inclusion builds anticipation for the Fantastic Four’s movie release later this year.
New Maps and Modes

We are also getting 2 new maps for competitive and quick play and one new arcade mode with a very special map. So, be ready to battle in exciting new locations and test your skills in a fresh game mode:
- Midtown (Convoy Map): Escort H.E.R.B.I.E. to Avengers Tower in a dynamic cityscape.
- Sanctum Sanctorum (Arcade Mode “Doom Match”): Navigate portals and chaos in a red moon–lit mystical battleground.
- Central Park (New Map): Arriving midseason, this map promises intense skirmishes under the open sky.

Doom Match brings a refreshing twist to gameplay with its arcade-style mechanics, making it a must-try for players of all skill levels. I am particularly excited for this one.
Battle Pass: Eternal Night Theme
![New Battle Pass Skins in Season 1](https://gameriv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/New-Battle-Pass-Skins-in-Season-1.jpg)
The Season 1 battle pass offers double the content compared to Season 0. For 990 lattice (≈ $10), players can unlock:
- 10 New Eternal Night Skins: Featuring stunning designs for Loki, Wolverine, and Scarlet Witch.
- 600 Lattice and 600 Units: Earn back nearly $12 worth of in-game currency upon completion.
It’s a great investment for anyone looking to enhance their collection while progressing through the season.
Balance Changes in Season 1: Buffs and Nerfs
The devs have listened to community feedback, and significant balance changes are incoming:
![Hela and Hawkeye nerfed](https://gameriv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Hela-and-Hawkeye-nerfed.jpg)
- Nerfs:
- Hela and Hawkeye: Reduced effectiveness to tone down their dominance in matches.
- Buffs:

Jeff’s ultimate will also receive a UI overhaul for better clarity. Full patch notes will be available closer to launch.
Ranked Reset and New Celestial Rank
Marvel Rivals Season 1 will also come with a complete ranks will reset, with players dropping seven divisions at the start of Season 1. For example, a Platinum 1 player will begin the season at Silver 2, making Marvel Rivals coaching evermore popular as people look to start the Season strong.
Additionally, the Celestial Rank is being introduced, sitting above Grandmaster with three tiers for the most elite players.
Other Updates
- Mouse Acceleration Settings: A highly requested feature will finally be available, no more manual file edits!
- Midseason Stats Update: Pick and win rate stats will be refreshed halfway through the season, keeping players informed on meta shifts.
Looking Ahead
Marvel Rivals Season 1 sets a high standard with four new heroes, two maps, one new mode, and exciting balance changes. The devs hinted that future seasons may scale down slightly but maintain a steady flow of content. With leaks about Ultron, Emma Frost, and Jean Grey circulating, the roadmap looks promising for Marvel Rivals’ longevity.
