List of Easter Eggs in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
LEGO Game Easter Eggs
Naturally, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga brought a bunch of easter eggs from some of the older LEGO Star Wars games. We have listed all of them below:
Dancing Chairs
If you’ve played the previous LEGO Star Wars games, then you might be familiar with the concept of making mundane chairs dance using the Force. This phenomenon can be recreated as early as the very first episode, where you have to align chairs a certain way to make them groove.
Troopers in a Tub
One of the funniest and most reminiscing scenes from the previous LEGO Star Wars game was Stormtroopers chilling in a bathtub during their free time. This scene was brought back in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, even down to the same reaction dialogue.
Stormtrooper Floating in Space
When you release the airlock in Episode 1 -The Phantom Menace, you can spot a Stormtrooper floating through space. This easter egg is a callback to the first LEGO Star Wars game released in 2005.
LEGO Star Wars Posters
When playing Episode 4 – A New Hope, you can actually access a secret area and find the poster of the 2006 LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy stashed away nicely in a corner.
Moreover, you can find the cover of the 2005 LEGO Star Wars Prequel Trilogy cover in Naboo. You will need to hack away at some wild plants near the water’s edge to reveal the poster. However, you may also find the cover in Geonosis.
Furthermore, you will find the poster of 2016’s Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the catacombs of Maz’s castle.
Indiana Jones References
Players will find multiple Indiana Jones references and easter eggs throughout their playthrough. We have listed all of them below:
Ark of the Covenant
Players will encounter this sacred relic from the “Raiders Of The Lost Ark” Indiana Jones film when Rey meets Han Solo and Chewbacca for the first time in Episode 7’s “Reap What You Solo” mission. In order to find it, you will need to explore around to find a unique shipping container and complete its unlocking puzzle to discover the artifact inside.
Indiana Jones Hat
Indiana Jones’s signature hat makes a brief appearance in Episode 4 of the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. You will notice the hat flying out of the airlock during the cutscene where Leia and the Stormtroopers are getting swept away. However, in order to unlock this scene, you first have to put out the fire in that section.
Raiders of the Lost Ark Showdown
A cutscene depicting a Stormtrooper showing off his skills before fighting Han Solo in Episode 7 is a direct nod to a Raiders of the Lost Ark fight scene. In that scene, Jones gets bored quickly and cuts the fight short by pulling the trigger. Mirroring that scene, Han Solo also reaches for the trigger but is interrupted by Poe Dameron.
Spaceballs Reference
Spaceballs is a 1987 sci-fi comedy that was created as a parody of the Star Wars movies. Surely enough, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga referenced the gag film several times. We have listed them below:
Lady C-3PO
The Spaceball film had multiple characters that closely resembled their Star Wars counterpart. One of such characters was a golden droid named Dot Matrix, which was essentially C-3PO with a mop on his head. LEGO Skywalker Saga made a direct reference to Spaceball’s Dot Matrix by having a mop fly out of nowhere and land on C-3PO’s head, which compels Lando to be immediately attracted to him.
Big-Headed Darth Vader
Spaceball’s version of Darth Vader was short but with an oversized head, too big for his body. You can find this Spaceball version of Darth Vader during your playthrough in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Lord of The Rings References
There are countless subtle references to the Lord of The Rings franchise throughout the game. Let it be mission names or dialogues; you can’t miss it. Below are a few examples.
The Protocol Droid shouting “No one tosses a droid!” is a direct nod to Gimli’s iconic dialogue “Nobody tosses a Dwarf!” at the Two Towers from Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Moreover, the concept of “Second Breakfast” is referenced multiple times throughout the game, which is a nod to the Hobbits in the Lord of The Rings having two breakfasts.
Taken Reference
Slipping in a Taken reference was a given since Liam Neeson played both Star Wars’ Qui-Gon Jinn and Taken’s Bryan Mills. Liam Neeson’s phone call scene in Taken was the highlight of the film, and his “I have a particular set of skills” dialogue is seen directly quoted by Qui-Gon Jinn when faced with a Force user puzzle.
Spartacus Reference
In the classic 60’s film, Spartacus’s fellow slaves claim to be the real Spartacus to conceal his identity. You can find this Spartacus-inspired scene with Padme in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, where multiple Theed civilians claim to be Queen Amidala to protect her identity.
Spiderman Reference
Tobey Maguire’s Spiderman trilogy was epic. There are countless scenes from those films that became viral memes. This particular iconic Spiderman scene where Peter Parker hides from Norman Osborn is recreated by Obi-Wan almost shot-for-shot at the beginning of Order Sixty Six.
Grease Reference
There are plenty of unique interactions between characters throughout the game. When Kylo Ren meets the Sith version of Rey, you can see her quote a line directly from the 1970’s musical romance film Grease.
Metal Gear Solid Reference
If you’re a Metal Gear Solid fan, then you’ll be familiar with the infiltration mission where you can move around incognito by hiding under a cardboard box. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga allows you to recreate that MGS mission during “A Bag Full of Explosives” questline, where Han Solo and Chewbacca have to plant explosives and escape from the thermal oscillator.
The Witcher 3 Reference
The Witcher 3 is undoubtedly one of the best videogames ever created. However, it had a minor glitch that soon turned into an internet meme. In the Witcher 3, Geralt’s horse would sometimes spawn on top of roofs when called. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has referenced that infamous glitch in a mission called Untitled Orbak Game, which is a reference to yet another videogame.
Xenoblade Reference
You will come across a Disco Director during your playthrough of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, where he can be seen directly quoting Shulk from the Xenoblade Chronicles. The famous quote “I’m really feeling it” once became a viral meme.
The Mandalorian Reference
While The Mandalorian is technically a part of the Star Wars franchise, a subtle reference to the hit TV show is made in Grogu’s idle animations. In the tv show, Grogu gulps down a live frog. If your Din Djarin and Grogu characters sit around for too long in the game, you will notice Grogu swallowing down a whole frog, just like in the series.
Obscure Easter Eggs and References
Perhaps it is no surprise that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is full of references and easter eggs from the Star Wars films. There are nods to some iconic Star Wars dialogues, as well as easter eggs from real-world Lego toys and other pop culture references. These minor easter eggs and references can be missed, so we have listed some of them below.
Hello there!
“Hello there!” is an iconic Obi-Wan Kenobi greeting that is loved by many, even within the Star Wars universe. So much so that even General Grievous is fond of the dialogue. As a nod to that, when players pair Obi-Wan with General Grievous, he will greet the droid general like in the movies.
Buffy the Cleaning Droid
Unbeknownst to many, Finn used to be the Head of Sanitization at Starkiller Base back when he was a Stormtrooper. When Finn sneaks into the Starkiller Base as a Stormtrooper, it is possible to be reunited with his favorite cleaning droid named Buffy.
Anakin’s Red Saber
Sometimes when Anakin pulls out his lightsaber, it will display Sith’s red color instead of the Jedi’s blue. Anakin can be seen shaking his lightsaber frantically to turn it back to blue before anyone notices. This easter egg is a direct reference to Anakin’s future demise.
7000 Pieces Millennium Falcon
During the Millennium Falcon escape scene in Episode 4 – A New Hope, Han Solo can be seen saying they need to make it out alive in one piece, rather than 7000 tiny pieces. This is a reference to the actual 7000-piece Millenium Falcon LEGO set.
LEGO Brick Separator
The LEGO brick separator is a patented tool that is used to detach Lego blocks without damaging them. A cutscene in the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga depicts characters using the brick separator tool to pry open a door.
Michael Jackson Dance Moves
In Episode 6 – Return of the Jedi, Chewie can be seen busting some of Michael Jackson’s most iconic moves in celebration.
I Am the Senate
Palpatine can be seen quoting his iconic line from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith from time to time. Depending on who you’re with, you might get a unique response. For example, Jar Jar Binks will take Palpatine literally and respond with “Hiya Senate, Mesa Jar Jar Binks!”
The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise
Chancellor Palpatine has often become a meme due to his memorable dialogues. His question to Anakin regarding the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise became a viral copypasta trend where people would repeatedly quote the question to annoy others.
As a reference to the meme, Palpatine’s character can be seen quoting the dialogue over and over again. And depending on who you’re with, you might get an annoyed response. For example, Darth Vader snaps saying “We can’t keep doing this, you have told me countless times!”
Shirtless Kylo Ren
Kylo Ren loves to be shirtless. And to honor that, players can actually unlock a shirtless version of his character in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. To make things funnier, if you pair your Shirtless Kylo Ren with Rey, she will be visibly annoyed with his being shirtless.
Lando’s Capes
Lando is often seen donning fashionable capes in Star Wars films. Players can actually find Lando’s wardrobe full of fancy capes in his bedroom in Episode 5 – The Empire Strikes Back.
Luke’s Blue Milk
Luke Skywalker can be seen drinking milk in several stages of his life throughout several Star Wars movies. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga makes a reference to that in Luke Skywalker’s idle animations. If you stay idle for too long, Luke will pull out a carton of blue milk and drink from it.
Blue Milk Sale
A Stormtrooper in Mos Eisley can be seen reading a newspaper. Funnily enough, the newspaper headline reads “Blue Milk Sales Up!” which is a nod to an action figure of Luke Skywalker drinking blue milk having record sales.
Bothan Incident
During Episode 6 – Return of the Jedi, you will find a tally counter with an Aurbesh heading that reads “Days Since Bothan Incident,” which is more of a foreshadowing than an easter egg.
Among Clouds
During Episode 8 – The Last Jedi, you’ll find Chewbacca reading a book titled “Among Clouds”. The cover art of the book depicts Lando giving flowers to L3-37, which is an easter egg of their romance subplot.
Kylo Ren’s Bedroom Posters
When Rey enters Kylo’s room, players will find several Lego Star Wars posters hanging over Kylo’s bed.
E3-Lifeboat
You’ll find an abandoned E3-Lifeboat in Daboga’s Dragonsnake Bog, which is an easter egg for the E3-standard starship lifeboat Yoda used to escape to Daboga during the Great Jedi Purge.
Holdo’s Hair Colors
Admiral Holdo can never stick to the same hair color. This is referenced in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga as the character is played by three LEGO minifigs with different hair colors.
