You’ll get your first horse very early on in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, during the Assault in Wan Castle in Chapter 1.

- Endurance: 5
- Abilities:
- Lv. 5 – Makes it possible for a mounted charge to defeat soldiers in a single strike.
- Lv. 10 – Staggers nearby enemies when you land from a height.

Red Hare has the best stats out of any horse, and its abilities allow it clear waves enemies using mounted charge. Moreover, its high speed allows you to travel very quickly, allowing you to quickly respond to allies calling for help.
It’s so powerful in fact, that you can just stay on it for the entire duration of a battle and just quickly mow down enemies and move from objective to objective.
However, you can only get the Red Hare during the post-game. Thus, you will not be able to use it during your initial playthrough.
To unlock the Red Hare, you’ll need to beat the game on either Cao Cao or Liu Bei’s route. Then, you’ll need to defeat Lu Bu on Ultimate Warrior difficulty without using Meat Buns or any other Portable Item.

Birch’s Lv.10 ability, which extends its mounted charge distance, allows it to dash farther than most other horses. Furthermore, its stats are only second to the Red Hare.
For travelling purposes, its second only to the Red Hare, however unlike the Red Hare we do not recommend staying on it during battles, as it cannot match the combat prowess of the Red Hare. No horse in the game can actually.
