Cyberpunk 2077 is giving players plenty of reasons to return to Night City. The Edgerunners 2 Update, also known as Patch 2.5, introduces an anime-inspired quest, dual-wielding, cyberware customization, and in-game mod support across PC and consoles.
CD Projekt Red has released the patch notes ahead of the updateโs October 22 launch. Alongside the headline additions, players can expect more outfits, new activities, a console FOV slider, and technical improvements.
In brief:
- Patch 2.5 launches October 22, 2026, with Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version following in the days afterward.
- Clampdown adds a side quest set before Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, with a five-piece King gear set available during the mission.
- Dual-wielding and Glamdocs introduce a new combat option and more ways to customize Vโs cyberware.
- Cross-platform mod support, new exploration content, and quality-of-life changes round out the update.
Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update Release Date
The Edgerunners 2 Update arrives on October 22, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Mac versions purchased through Steam, GOG, or the Epic Games Store.
Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac App Store players will receive the update in the following days. The patch notes do not provide an exact release date for those versions.
New Edgerunners 2 Quest, King Outfit, and Radio Station
The main anime crossover addition is Clampdown, a side quest that takes place before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2.
To unlock it, players need to:
- Complete The Heist.
- Finish two gigs for Wakako.
- Wait for Wakako to send a message.
During Clampdown, players can obtain a five-piece gear set based on King. If you want to jump straight into the new quest, checking those requirements before the update lands should save you some time.
Night Cityโs radio lineup is also expanding with HKGN 102.0 FM, which features a selection of tracks from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series.
Double Trouble Adds Dual-Wielding to Cyberpunk 2077
Patch 2.5 introduces Double Trouble, a new perk in the Cool skill tree that allows V to dual-wield Power-category pistols and revolvers.
Four supporting perks accompany the addition, giving players more options for building around the new combat style. The weapon restriction is worth keeping in mind when planning your loadout, since the notes specifically identify Power pistols and revolvers as compatible.
Photo Mode also gets new poses designed to show off Vโs two-gun setup.
Glamdocs Let Players Customize Their Cyberware
Vโs chrome is getting more attention with the arrival of five Glamdocs across Night City.
These specialists offer cosmetic customization for:
- Mantis Blades
- Gorilla Arms
- Monowire
- Projectile Launch System
Each Glamdoc has a dedicated shop, an introductory scene, and a distinct selection of cyberware skins with customizable colors. Look for the spray paint icon on the map to find them.
And for players who spend as much time perfecting Vโs appearance as their build, this adds another layer of customization beyond clothing and hairstyles.
Cross-Platform Mod Support Comes to Consoles and PC
One of Patch 2.5โs biggest additions is cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io. Players will be able to browse and install a selection of community-made mods directly through the in-game menu.
The feature supports PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. CD Projekt Red describes it as a first step, with more mods joining the selection over time.
Console players cannot earn achievements or trophies while playing from a modded save. Those saves will receive a dedicated icon in the Load Game menu, making them easier to identify.
Welcome to Paradise and New Tarot Cards Expand Night City
Another new side quest, Welcome to Paradise, sends players on a mystery-focused tour of Night City narrated by Richard Night.
It becomes available after completing The Heist and reaching Street Cred level 15.
Exploration also gets a boost through 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot Cards scattered around the city. Scanning any of them activates a new quest extending Fool on the Hill, and finding the full collection earns a special reward.
The Tarot menu will separate Major and Minor Arcana cards into their own sections to help track progress.
New Outfits, Hairstyles, and Vehicle Skins
Patch 2.5 expands Night Cityโs clothing selection with several outfit collections available from specific vendors.
| Clothing set | Vendor locations |
|---|---|
| Maxiwear | Heywood, Arroyo, Little China |
| Jinguji | City Center |
| NetWatch | Kabuki, Japantown |
| IconAmerica | Pacifica, Badlands, Northside |
| NUS Infiltrator | Kabuki, Japantown |
A further outfit set is scheduled to reach stores later.
Some hairstyles previously reserved for NPCs are becoming available to V, although certain styles remain tied to feminine or masculine body types.
Players can also pick up four new TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech through Twitch Drops. Meanwhile, Photo Mode gains Cyberpunk Trading Card Game frames for turning screenshots into custom card-style images.
Console FOV Slider and Quality-of-Life Improvements
Console players finally get an FOV slider, allowing them to adjust how much of the scene is visible during gameplay.
Other practical changes include:
- Saves grouped by playthrough in the Load Game menu.
- Item filters for apartment and vehicle stashes.
- Updated CD Projekt Red Account, My Rewards, and telemetry consent menus.
- Revised AMD FSR options, retaining FSR 2.1, FSR 4, and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation while removing FSR 3 upscaling.
The save grouping and stash filters should be especially useful for anyone returning to multiple characters or a large equipment collection.
DLSS 4.5, Mac Improvements, and Performance Updates
The technical changes include DLSS 4.5 support, with up to 6X Multi Frame Generation, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, and the second-generation Transformer Model.
Other additions cover:
- MetalFX Frame Interpolation and Denoising on Mac.
- Glasses-free 3D support for compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors.
- A Motion Comfort setting for adjusting the 3D viewing experience.
- An FSR Anti-Lag 2 toggle.
- Performance optimizations targeting ray tracing and PS5 Pro.
- Improved HDR colors, brightness, and contrast.
Major Bug Fixes in Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.5
The update also addresses several progression, display, and control issues. Highlights include a fix for the Nintendo Switch 2 insufficient-space save error and a PS5 issue that prevented HDR setting adjustments from taking effect.
The Things Done Changed quest receives a fix for Delamainโs cab getting stuck after a collision and blocking progression. Other fixes cover Film Grain having no effect, unintended crouching or standing while tagging enemies, and missing third-person camera controller settings.
