Crown of the Shattered Queen is getting some huge changes in the next patch.
First and foremost, Spear of Shojin is finally getting some nerfs. The item has been extremely powerful since it received some buffs in the previous patch, and it is now finally being nerfed. Top laners like Irelia, Gwen, and Kennen are also getting some slight buffs. Strong champions, including Jarvan Iv, Kayn, and Tryndamere, are also being nerfed.
Bard is undergoing significant changes as well. Along with these changes, the item Crown of the Shattered Queen will undergo significant adjustments.
Crown of the Shattered Queen was added to League of Legends with the item update in Patch 11.23. It’s a situational AP item that provides protection against high burst damage, thanks to its Unique Passive – Safeguard. Not only does the item provide a shield that blocks incoming damage, but it also gives the user a massive AP boost if the shield is up.
Despite having such a strong passive, it couldn’t be fully utilized in Solo-Queue due to its chaotic environment. But in professional play, it was one of the strongest AP items in the game. Thus, on Patch 13.18, Riot is adjusting the item so that it is viable in both Solo-Queue and Professional Play.
