If you are still in Chapter III or earlier, several up-to-date guides point to The Seed of Unease quest as one of the strongest early farming methods. While climbing the mountain toward the Reed Devil, you can find multiple totems that keep spawning waves of enemies until the totems are destroyed. As long as you avoid ending the setup too quickly, those repeated enemy waves can turn into a steady source of Abyss Artifacts.
Also, elite totems in blockaded areas during Chapter 3 can effectively be farmed for unlimited progression before defeating the Reed Devil. So if you are still in that window of the game, this is arguably the best time to build up a stockpile before moving on.
Do Abyss Challenges and Sealed Abyss Artifacts matter for farming?
Yes, absolutely. Standard enemy farming is not the only source. Completing Abyss Challenges rewards Abyss Artifacts, which means puzzle solving and challenge cleanup can supplement your combat farming nicely. Greymane dispatches there can reward Abyss Artifacts, and some players deep into the end game are also pointing to a Timeworn Ruins mission as a source. This is not as fast as active farming at a dedicated route, but it is a nice background method if you want a little extra income while focusing on other content.
Has anything changed in recent patches?
Pearl Abyss’s official April 4 patch notes did not announce a direct rebalance to Abyss Artifact drop rates, but they did fix issues related to obtaining Abyss Artifacts and also added a new Abyss Nexus in Pailune. The patch also improved Abyss Nexus usability, which can make repeated farming routes a bit smoother depending on where you are in the game.
There is still at least one relevant known issue on the official site as of April 14. Pearl Abyss says nearby Abyss Nexuses or stone lanterns may occasionally fail to mark correctly when using Blinding Flash, though restarting the game can temporarily resolve it. That is worth keeping in mind if your route feels bugged or your navigation suddenly seems off.
Best farming method for most players

If you are still in Chapter III, the enemy totem setup during The Seed of Unease looks like the best high-value farm because of the repeatable spawns.
