A completely new Assault Rifle called Vargo-S will join the Call of Duty multiplayer mode following the season 4 Mercenaries of Fortune update.
Raven Software has been killing it with their content drop scattered across multiple live service titles such as Vanguard, Zombies, and Warzone. With each new update, the devs try to spice things up by releasing new maps, weapons, map POI updates, bundles, balancing changes, and more to keep the player base engaged.
The Call of Duty community is always excited about the prospect of new weapon releases. And it turns out the dev team is working hard to release new weapons in future updates. According to the official Call of Duty blog, a new Vargo-S Assault Rifle will arrive on both Warzone and Vanguard in the middle of Season 4 Mercenaries of Fortune.

Vargo-S is a full-auto assault rifle packing a punch with a fast fire rate and good damage at mid-range. It is one mean weapon that is effective where versatile equipment reigns. Unsurprisingly, it is a total powerhouse for Warzone and Call of Duty: Zombies. Furthermore, it might function similarly to its counterpart Vargo-52 Assault Rifle. It will be interesting to see how different players develop different weapon builds for this upcoming Submachine Gun.
Vargo-S Assault Rifle
Heavily inspired by Vargo-52 from BOCW, the gun is an early prototype of its counterpart. Vargo-S has an improved muzzle velocity and reliable handling for steady control while firing. The recoil pattern is upward and is controllable with a slight downward press, making it a strong choice for mid-range to long-range encounters. The rifle’s effective range can be enhanced further with a proper selection of attachments.
How to unlock Vargo-S Assault Rifle
The new Vargo-S Assault Rifle will be available for free in Vanguard and Warzone Season 4 after completing a relatively simple challenge. Here’s the challenge to unlock the Assault Rifle:
- Get 15 Close Range Kills.
For players who don’t want to go through the trouble of completing the challenges, buying a bundle with the Assault Rifle can be a straightforward way to unlock it in-game.
Vargo-S Assault Rifle Release Date
According to Raven Software, Vargo-S Assault Rifle is an in-season weapon, arriving in both Warzone and Vanguard shortly after the Season 4 reloaded update. The official release date is yet to be revealed.
