Call of Duty: Vanguard’s multiplayer is going free today. Here’s what players can expect from the free access time period.

Activision occasionally offers free access trials in an attempt to lure new players into trying the latest Call of Duty, and the firm is continuing that trend with Call of Duty: Vanguard.

From March 30 to April 13, Call of Duty: Vanguard’s multiplayer feature will be available for free. This new Free Access mode features two maps from the new season, a new objective mode, and a playlist of the game’s most popular maps.

How to Download

Once PC gamers load into the Call of Duty: Vanguard tab on the Battle.net client, they will see an option to “PLAY FREE”. This will initiate the download process and allow players to access the free trial content.

As for console gamers, players must first navigate to the store on their respective console – PlayStation or Xbox – and then search for “Vanguard Free Access.” Call of Duty: Vanguard should have a free trial accessible for download. Once downloaded, the game will be ready for playing.

Game Modes

The Call of Duty: Vanguard MP Free Access will include Season 2 content, including newer multiplayer maps, Casablanca and Gondola, a new objective mode called Arms Race, and a “featured Playlist including a selection of the game’s most popular maps.”

Casablanca: A shining jewel of Morocco, Casablanca is a medium-sized, three-lane-style map within a bustling marketplace. With several buildings to explore and climb upon, expect a variety of vertical engagements that invite both close- and long-range tactics.

Gondola: Don’t look down on this medium-sized, three-lane-style map. Take a trip on the Gondola to travel above a large gulch and fire watchtower, but hop off before it goes off the cliff! Operators can also take advantage of the long sightline this gondola route provides or head through the power plant and caves for more close-quarters battle.

Release Time

New players will have plenty of time to familiarize themselves with Vanguard’s Multiplayer during the two weeks of free access, which began on Wednesday, March 30 at 10 a.m. PT, 1 p.m. ET, and 6 p.m. GMT and end on Wednesday, April 13 at 10 a.m. PT, 1 p.m. ET, and 6 p.m. GMT.

Players can access all content as part of Call of Duty: Vanguard, and if they choose to purchase the complete game, their unlocks will carry over. All of this is available to new players who take advantage of the two weeks of free access during Vanguard Season 2 Reloaded.

Though players will be free to participate in various multiplayer modes, they will be unable to access the single-player or zombies modes. As a result, they are likely to remain unreachable for the two-week timeframe, but it might be an excellent opportunity for Warzone participants. Rather than honing their weaponry in Clash or Resurgence, players can go into Vanguard and blast their way through more rapid multiplayer encounters.
