Call of Duty just posted an artwork reveal for Modern Warfare II. The artwork reveal features IRL artwork done on ships and containers. Here’s everything we know about key characters and a possible trailer date.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is the most anticipated title of 2022. The game is a direct sequel to Modern Warfare (2019) and is set to feature a brand new campaign, multiplayer, DMZ, and Warzone 2.0.
Infinity Ward revealed MWII’s logo a few weeks ago. They are the lead development studio for MWII. The new game will feature a campaign that focuses on a war between Task Force 141 and Cartels. It will be set in South American countries with a brutal theme.

The most recent content posted on Call of Duty’s official YouTube account features artwork for the upcoming game. The video, about a minute long, shows us a glimpse of the game’s key characters.
Key Characters from the Artwork Reveal
Simon “Ghost” Riley
The trailer starts with a glimpse of a Ghost painted on a tugboat. Ghost was first teased in the post-credits scene of MW (2019). He was later on added to Warzone’s campaign as a key character. Most players are familiar with him as he is one of the most popular characters in Call of Duty’s history.

The following key character shown is Captain Price, the loud-mouthed charming British commander. He is the most beloved character in the Call of Duty community and is the chief of Task Force 141 in the battle against Cartels.

Kyle “Gaz” Garrick
The protagonist of MW (2019) is set to make a return in MWII as a part of Task Force 141. Gaz has been a part of previous old-school Modern Warfare titles. It is still unknown if he will remain the primary protagonist of MWII.

John “Soap” Mactavish
The most awaited character, Soap, has finally been revealed. Soap has been an essential part of the CoD series. He was the primary protagonist of MW1 (2007) and MW2 (2009). Fans were highly distressed by his death in MW3.

Alejandro Vargas
Alejandro Vargas can be seen at the end with an audio clip stating, “This is it, Hermano.” The audio clip suggests that this character is associated with the Cartels, but it is still unknown if he is an antagonist or protagonist in the campaign.

Possible Trailer Release Date
8 June 2022 might be the possible trailer release date. The date is just before Summer Game Fest. Leakers have stated that a 4-minutes extended campaign gameplay would be shown in Summer Game Fest on 9 June 2022. Therefore, it might not be a coincidence that the date was teased on the container’s body.
