Riot confirmed that Blue Essence Emporium is returning to League of Legends on patch 13.17.
In League of Legends, there are two types of standard currencies. They are Riot Points or RP and Blue Essence or BE. There are other currencies like Mythic Essence and Event Tokens, but they aren’t as easily obtainable as RP and BE.
Riot Points or RP are the premium currency. They are not obtainable by playing the game but instead can only be purchased with real-life money. Because of it, players can buy almost anything in League of Legends through RP.
Blue Essence, or BE, on the other hand, is the common currency. Players can earn them by playing the game regularly. With BE, players can purchase champions, rune pages, and a few icons from the shop.
But sometime within a year, Riot opens a shop called Blue Essence Emporium. In this shop, players can purchase many in-game items with Blue Essence, like skins, chromas, icons, emotes, etc.
More than a year ago, Riot put Blue Essence Emporium on hiatus. The reason for that was Blue Essence Emporium was challenging to deploy behind the scenes. Because of it, many events and other features end up getting delayed. So Riot ended up putting this store on hiatus to rework it behind the scenes.
Recently, Riot Games released the newest League of Legends dev log. In it, they talked about Arenas, Quick Play, the Star Guardian skins, upcoming ability icon updates, and for today’s topic, Blue Essence Emporium. Most importantly, they have revealed the release date of it.
Blue Essence Emporium Returning In Patch 13.17
In this dev log, Riot stated that they had reworked this store behind the scenes. So it should feel fluid. However, in terms of looks, it is practically the same as the previous iteration. But for what kind of rewards you can purchase, we already have an article right here detailing everything available in the store.
With that being said, the Blue Essence Emporium will return to League of Legends in patch 13.17, scheduled to release on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
