Blizzard has pushed another round of Overwatch hotfixes, with D.Mon receiving several improvements aimed at making her abilities faster and more consistent while Jetpack Cat is being brought back down after recent mobility changes. Overwatch confirmed the latest hotfixes are now going live, with the changes detailed in the August 14 patch notes.

In brief

  • D.Mon’s Surging Strike and Fusion Repeater now activate and recover considerably faster.
  • Several D.Mon bugs involving Overhealth, hit registration, and Power Barrier have been fixed.
  • Jetpack Cat’s base movement speed has been reduced from 6 to 5.5 meters per second.
  • Purr now applies a larger penalty to Jetpack Cat’s self-healing.

D.Mon Gets Important Bug and Hitbox Fixes

D.Mon
General:
โ†’ Adjusted the height of the mech head hitbox to be more flush with the model.
Surging Strike:
โ†’ Cast Time reduced from 0.15 to 0.05 seconds.
โ†’ Recovery reduced from 0.25 to 0.15 seconds.
Fusion Repeater:
โ†’ Cast Time reduced from 0.3 to 0.2 seconds.
โ†’ Recovery Time reduced from 0.5 to 0.2 seconds.

These changes should make D.Mon’s kit feel noticeably more responsive during fights, particularly when transitioning between attacks and abilities.

Blizzard has also addressed several problems affecting D.Mon. Portable Fusion Repeater could previously fail to register hits, while Limit Break had issues correctly granting Overhealth.

Her mech hitbox has also been adjusted. Blizzard fixed an issue that allowed D.Mon to take frontal damage while Power Barrier was deployed and lowered the mech’s head hitbox to better match the actual character model.

Jetpack Cat Gets Movement and Healing Nerfs

Jetpack Cat
General:
โ†’ Base movement speed reduced from 6 to 5.5 meters per second.
Purr:
โ†’ Self healing penalty increased from 25% to 40%.

Jetpack Cat is heading in the opposite direction. Her base movement speed has been reduced from 6 meters per second to 5.5 meters per second, limiting some of the mobility that made her difficult to pin down.

Purr is also becoming less effective for keeping Jetpack Cat herself alive. The ability’s self-healing penalty has increased from 25 percent to 40 percent, meaning she will receive considerably less healing from her own Purr while still retaining its support utility.

The hotfix represents another quick balance pass from Blizzard as it continues adjusting Overwatch’s newest heroes following the latest major update.
